Raiders to take Vita Vea with 10th pick?

Based on all their moves so far this off-season I think Gruden is trying to turn the clock back to 1999. With that in mind my best guess is that they're going to draft Jevon Kearse.

Thanks Taft!

Will there finally be a husky D lineman who does more than shit his pants in the NFL? Is this the one?

Ronnie Holmes and Martin Harrison won Super Bowls. Doug Martin was All-Pro for several years.creepycoug said:Will there finally be a husky D lineman who does more than shit his pants in the NFL? Is this the one?

Yes. Harrison is a bit of a reach. He bounced around for 9 yrs, full time starter for two, maybe had one respectable season. Not exactly the guy you'd say was robbed of multiple pro bowls.DerekJohnson said:

They were all a century ago. I'd have gone with D Farr as the lonely example: played in a lot of games, found a pro bowl in 99, and is a bit most recent.
Let's we what happens with Vea, and let's see if Danny the Alligator Shelton can be more than a fat pussy against NFL o linemen. He gets one more chance in New England. -
you asked "Will there finally be a husky D lineman who does more than shit his pants in the NFL?" And I answered.creepycoug said:

Tank Johnson did ok, but still UWs last few guys have fallen short of NFL expectations.

Tank has joined me as a reformed former criminal. We are making a difference. -
In three seasons with the Browns, Shelton started all but three games. His stats don't stand out, but that's often the case with defensive tackles. Shelton was an anchor for a Browns defense that ranked second against the run, allowing only 3.4 yards per carry.dnc said:

In 2016, Shelton was ranked by Pro Football Focus as the NFL's eighth-best defensive tackle versus the run.

Fucking ASU education..... -
I’m bummed that this did not happen; would have been better for Vea to be playing in our recruiting territory than across the country.

That must be why the Patriots gave up so much to get him. He’s okay.Gladstone said:

Because the Browns are incapable of evaluating someone poorly? Why would NE give up more than they had to?RoadDawg55 said:

Shelton has been just fine. He's recognized as a solid run stopper who doesn't provide much pass rush...strikingly similar to literally every scouting report when he entered the draft. Doesn't really seem like he's shitting the bed.
