Jordan Peterson on with Bill Maher

You have to be offensive to think. Ok. But it's the universities liberal policies causing this issue. Ok.
Or how about the are fucktarded people on both sides of the aisle. And it's even more pathetic when the fucktarded people are college educated. -
Jordan Petersen would be unknown if this weren't a yuge problem. He's right, we can thank universities for leading the charge against the 1st amendment. They've become the opposite of what they're supposed to be - places where ideas can be exchanged freely. They've become enemies of the United States and are mass producing people who don't value free speech and who would rather live under socialism or communism
Defund all public universities and strip them of all federal (and state money whenever possible) immediately. Universities are already suffering from declining enrollment, speed up the process by forcing them to raise tuition. They will lose even more students.
If they want federal and state funds returned to them, they will need to show that they've rooted out this disease of their own creation. -
Exactly. An uneducated society is what the Republican party needs to succeed. At least you own it.oregonblitzkrieg said:Jordan Petersen would be unknown if this weren't a yuge problem. Someone needs to educate your ass about the word 'liberal.' Exhibit A:2001400ex said:You have to be offensive to think. Ok. But it's the universities liberal policies causing this issue. Ok.

Now which list of words best describes the people running the universities presently. Which list of words describes the general attitude among the students toward things like free speech and diversity of opinion? -
An uneducated society is better than a society controlled and run by people who have been brainwashed and recruited into a anti-democratic ideology. But that's not the intention. Stripping funds to force change is.2001400ex said:

I have...it’s a joke. You go to lecture and take notes. Sociology, psychology, political science teachers always highlight key lines and they describe their opinion on them. All you have to do is put those lines in your paper, appear to have the same opinion as the professor and explain why he/she is right. Even if you believe their opinion is retarded. You will at worst get a B. I never read material or did research in these classes. Just agreed with the professor. Graduated with a 3.7 GPA. That’s our college education system.2001400ex said:

Yes that part of the system is dumb. I skipped most of my classes, talked to friends when tests were and read the definitions in the book the night before the test and got a 3.6. The University system is a joke. But not for the reasons OBK thinks.greenblood said:

The education system is the source of the problem. The well is poisoned. Students are required to take certain courses in order to graduate. Maybe some of those required courses should be refreshers on what free speech is, what are the constitutional amendments and why are they important to a free society? Maybe some other required courses should be focused on Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, so students can understand what happens to societies that become ignorant and intolerant in their thinking and behavior.2001400ex said:

Education in and of itself is not the problem. True professional and technical educations are valuable to all. The problem is rampant left wing indoctrination under the guise of education.oregonblitzkrieg said:

I tell you what, you get your side to teach evolution in their home schools and I’ll get my side in on free speech. -
Religion is pretty stupid too

At least you're honest enough to admit the left has a free speech problem.
Here's an essay against free speech written by a student at UC Santa Barbara. She states:
With two different ends of the spectrum, there should be a fine line where free speech stops being a right and starts being a threat to the very idea of America.

But in all seriousness, state colleges are state colleges. Some have specialty programs but all in all, pre-grad courses are about the same wherever you go. -
Progressives going back to and even before Woodrow Wilson have long held the Constitution in contempt as it has been an impediment to their goals. Obama openly disparaged the Constitution as merely a charter of "negative liberties". There is no way that crowd is going to teach the true why behind the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They want it gone and are now openly attacking the first two amendments, arguably the most important of the Bill of Rights.oregonblitzkrieg said:

If one can not discern or evaluate ‘bad’ free speech, they are not well educated.oregonblitzkrieg said:^
At least you're honest enough to admit the left has a free speech problem.
Here's an essay against free speech written by a student at UC Santa Barbara. She states:
With two different ends of the spectrum, there should be a fine line where free speech stops being a right and starts being a threat to the very idea of America.

Therefore, if the very institutions who are supposedly responsible for educating can't do that, they most certainly are not competent enough to judge what is and isn't acceptable.
Do your fucking job instead.

You went to a shitty university, then. Not my experience as a student at Cal, grad student at GWU, or as a GSI at UCLA.greenblood said:
I have...it’s a joke. You go to lecture and take notes. Sociology, psychology, political science teachers always highlight key lines and they describe their opinion on them. All you have to do is put those lines in your paper, appear to have the same opinion as the professor and explain why he/she is right. Even if you believe their opinion is retarded. You will at worst get a B. I never read material or did research in these classes. Just agreed with the professor. Graduated with a 3.7 GPA. That’s our college education system.2001400ex said:

But he says his failure, skill-wise and professionally, is the result of federal government policy.BearsWiin said:

I think we've established that the California public education system is a total shitshow.

Those that can do. Do. Those that can’t become career students and tenured professors. However one did become POTUS. Doubt we’ll ever see that again however.BearsWiin said:
