    Been moving away from funding wildlife and fishery research from university lab/M.S and Ph.D programs....to NGOs/Consultants/Resource agencies.

    Not worth the headache for the low quality work...

    These academic fucks need to be careful. It probably won't matter at private universities - but the purse strings are controlled by state legislatures. The academics keep fucking around, there is going to be a voter backlash and the politicians will neuter their funding.

    Tenure doesn't protect against elimination of entire programs. The big mouth profs are going to find themselves in the unemployment line.

    You push things too far, expect the consequences. See also Trump's election. You poke the bear too many times with bullshit and it wakes up and votes accordingly.

    I left a coddled Ph.D program for employment about 15 years ago for some of this nonsense. Thought it might be endemic to the school/field I specialized in, but it oozes out of both the STEM and non-STEM programs I work with today.

    I voted for Sawant because she said she would bring the Sonics back. She then proceeded to fuck the new Arena deal and continue to be one of the most annoying politicians in the world. She is also a giant hypocrite when it comes to all her socialism bullshit.
