How in the fuck can you have a list that includes bands up to the present and not include Muse?

    HR, YK

Best rock band in the world right now. Probably the best post Cobain.
Seen them twice. Both top 10 shows ever for me.
Never seen them, definitely on my bucket list. Where'd you see them at?
Rose Garden both times. Very loud but clear. Best on the floor.

I'm so gay for them that I drove down for both of the past two Portland shows after seeing them in Seattle the night before. Actually drove right past Matt Bellamy and Dom Howard walking in downtown Portland prior to one of them and screamed like a pre-teen girl.

The first one I saw, the Silversun Pickups opened. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the lead singer was a Man... Baby!!! I'd never seen a video of them and only some promo stuff where they featured the bass player whose a decent looking blonde.

But in the end Jake Browning still sucks.

Also think Muse belongs on this list. Saw them open for U2 at UVA's Scott Stadium in Charlottesville ~8 years ago. Great show.

So @YellowSnow, does this tournament have a play in game poll?

You know the 60's 1 seed vs 16 seed might get interesting (probably not). I know I am voting for Jefferson Airplane.

White Rabbit >>>>>>Any single song Beatles ever did.

Also, DDY is right. No Motorhead is a disgrace.

Maybe next time around. This is sort of a trial run.

Love em or hate em, Green Day deserved a seed in the tourney. 65M albums sold, 5 Grammys, and in the HOF.

Ozzy should have also been in, probably in the late 70s to mid 80s group. Blizzard of Ozz & Diary of a Madman influenced a shit ton of metal bands. My Mt. Rushmore of metal is Ozzy, Lemmy, split face of Hetfield/Hammett, and Kerry King.

I probably fucked over Green Day and the 90s to present was the hardest for me to stay objective. I don't think I left off anyone who would have made it to the Elite 8, at least, so I'm not gonna loose too much sleep over it.

When you do the R&B/Top 40/radio music whatever one, and don't put Prince in the top 3, I am coming for you. Sweet dreams.

I love you man. Also, thanks for not commenting on the very obvious fact that I died in this movie right after my kick ass show of force chest cut thingy.

Radiohead is slightly ahead for me, but Bellamy is a true showman. Hell of a band.

    Yeah....

No matter how many times He tried to explain to her that this was a UW "sports" and "culture" board, she just wouldn't buy it.

So apparently I seeded the 60s right in that there is not likely to be a single 1st round upset. Can't say the same about the late 70s.

When I lived in Oklahoma I was surrounded by hipsters who sucked Thom Yorke's cockus nonstop so I'm probably biased against them but I'll take Muse, Oasis, Blur, Travis and even (NTTAWWT) Coldplay over Radiohead in the post Kurt, british invasion division. But I recognize they're influential as hell and worthy of their iconic status. I just don't think I'll ever be able to stomach them.

Agreed on Bellamy as a showman. Wolstenholme is a pretty badass bass player too. Their range is what really impresses me, they hit a lot of genres, and all of them very well.

When the same band can do that, and Hysteria, and Uprising, and Supermassive Blackhole, they're pretty badass. Modern rock Queen. I know, I'm gushing like a fucking fanboy. But I think they're highly underrated.

Dude. They're my favorite band but that song isn't even top-50 for them. Everything off of Origin of Symmetry and Absolution is better than the stuff they made for their female American following.

It's not my favorite song of theirs, though probably top 5. Just saying it's the sexiest song in decades, not that it's the best.

Absolution is their best album, but The Resistance is damn good.

I didn’t really know a lot about Muse my first show. But I’m not sure that I’ve ever had my face melted like when they played Hysteria. I hardly knew the song but it didn’t matter. Highlight of both shows for me. Knights of Sedonia? was another great one. I had NEVER heard that one before the first show and loved it. I’m more drawn to their older shit I think.

^^^ And to add Supermassive Blackhole was the hair standing on end moment. They play loud and the whole crowd was groovin right outta the gate when they busted into it, and as loud as it was you could hear the crowd screaming too. If ever there were some proper anarchists, Muse would be them.
