I waited on Michael McDonald at the Biltmore in SB. Nice guy.
Also waited on Mariah Carey. She used an alias, not nice.
I used to party with the guys from Rebelution when they were nothing more than the college band playing in the background at 65 block DP in Isla Vista. Glad to see they've made it. -
I played little league baseball with Duff Mckagan.
Also, went to a fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion in 2002. A couple of guys from the Knack were in my limo on the ride over from UCLA. They didn’t say a word. Alice Cooper was at the event. He could not have been more friendly or approachable. -
My shit garage band opened for 1000 Maniacs (Natalie Merchant's old band) at a bar in Dallas called "Bar of Soap." We also were a regular house band at the Houston punk rawk club called The Axiom which was a location in shit Winona Ryder movie "Reality Bites."
Got high with Mark Farina a few times.
Was briefly married into the Autzen (of the West Hills Autzens) crime family.

Security Stories from days past.
Stone Temple Pilots show. Lead singer Scott Weiland kept stage diving while yours truly manned front center stage. The fourth and final time I "helped" push Weiland back on stage I gave him an extra push that sent him tumbling. Whoops. I grinned.
AC/DC: When Angus —staged and carefully orchestrated— came to drop his drawers we had to move in to keep the little peckerheads from leaping up to get a piece of Young's Union Jack skivvies. Getting slugged in the head by 5' TUFF longhairs looking to impress their pock mocked girlfriends while Angus tickled his fretboard, egging them on against the minimum wage muscle the band paid to protect them was special.
Ozzy: Pre-show an ENT arrived and shot him up with steroids for his vocal pipes, followed by a B-12 pick me up. Pleasant, frail, old chap. TUFOS. -

Met Kurt Cobain at Lamefest in 1989 at the Moore Theater when Nirvana opened up for Mudhoney.
Met Ian McCullough and Will Sargent of Echo and the Bunnymen at Mo’s Roccan Cafe -
Played poker at the Palms (2010 or so?) with Axl Rose. Very small guy who didn't really say much and didn't seem to be a good poker player. Had two security dudes standing with him the entire time. I was more distracted by the fact that Huck Seed (former World Poker Main Event Winner) was also sitting at the table with an absolute mountain of chips.
Played blackjack at the Riviera in Vegas with the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, in the mid-90's. He also had 2 security guys with him who seemed to be in charge of all of his decision making. I'm pretty sure that behind the dark shades, Mr. Brown was completely comatose because he barely moved, and never spoke, the entire time he was at the table.
Played blackjack at the Hard Rock with Rob Zombie. Also a very small dude, but easily recognizable if you were aware of pop culture at all. He was a nice guy and was just hanging out solo.
Best story: Arrived at the Luxor early one morning and as my cab is pulling up to the cab stand, there is a large group of people leaving the casino, somewhat in a hurry. The cabby stops short of the cab stand (thinking the people are going to cross in front of him) and as he does that, half of the group goes in front of the cab while the other half thinks the cab is going to keep moving so they try to go behind it.
The group trying to go behind the cab literally walks right into my door as I'm getting out and I'm face to face ... really, face to face ... maybe 2 feet away ... from Michael Jackson. Absolutely crazy experience. He had been there to see the Titanic Exhibit (I think?) early in the morning before the crowds would see him. -
I once met a guy who said he had a temporary job of holding up Marshall cabinets while Jimi Hendrix was sliding his guitar around the face of the cabinet (his sort of slide guitar stunt) a la Woodstock. Somebody backed him up on this story, so I assume it wasn't bullshit.
