He was the President and COO of Goldman Sachs for over a decade. Probably one of the few members of the Trump administration who was actually qualified for their job. He quit cause he knows the tariffs are a fucking stupid idea and wouldn't go along with them. But sure, you and your fellow Trumptards can keep on telling yourself your Stable Genius knows better.
    You seem upset
Nah, I'm just baffled that otherwise rational people like yourself continue to trust and believe in a bonafide con man. This guy is so incompetent he somehow went bankrupt owning a casino (the house always wins) yet Trumptards think he knows how to run the economy better than Wall Street professionals. Have Republicans already forgotten what happened the last time we tried steel tariffs?

That 2002 tariff just crippled the economy huh? Oh that's right it didn't and the Economy was flying as high as ever after that right up until the Banks and Brokers starting packaging dogshit loans as A paper for hundreds of Billions of Dollars.

And Here's what the E.U.'s plan to counter the disastrous tariffs are.

The E.U. chose industries in politically important states that would get the president's attention, a tactic the European Union is using again with Trump by saying it would retaliate against Kentucky bourbon and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Kentucky is the home state of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), and Harley's main production factories are in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Missouri, key states that went for Trump.

AT least 81% of the Folks in the EU that are buying Harleys and Bourbon aren't price conscious. If they want those products, they will buy those products for whatever the cost is.

Tariffs can be used as a tool to prevent an oversupply of cheap products. China doesn't make cheap steel because they are more efficient at it. They sell cheap steel at an abundant rate because their government uses the steel program as a national program to employ it's people. The government funds the steel production at a loss, because that is better than having people live off entitlements. Most other countries can't do that because most industries including steel manufacturing is a private enterprise. When countries do not play by the same rules, tariffs can be used to even the playing field.

So they just ended the tariffs 16 months early for fun?

The employment gains in factories that make raw steel were outweighed by job losses in other industries, especially at companies that take raw steel and make it into parts for cars and appliances. To put it another way, it cost about $400,000 per job saved in the steel industry, according to an estimate by the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Oh so Harley is just shutting down at even the threat of a tariff that hasn't even happened yet.

    Got it.

I'm hearing that "targeted" Obama tariffs were great.

Trump's track record on the economy is hardly terrible. That's why no one listens to you. You're such a drama queen.

That's the problem with the entire left. We are months into Trump Drama Fatigue.

I know Trump well enough to know that you don't claim victory or defeat on the opening bid. You let him work. That's what we elected him for

Pretty much time for you to get the fuck over it

So far the Trump gloom predictors are pretty much zero for forever

You don't get the difference between targeting steel companies that dump in the US and blanket tariffs that fuck our allies?
    I do

    LIPO

For as much as you guys freak out daily over Trump you really don't know him at all.

Underestimate your opponents and fail to study them is a recipe for a second term
I hear the surging democrat voter turnout in Texas spells doom for Trump.

Trump made more money on his "bankruptcy" than you'll make in a lifetime.

    Carry on with your narrative.
