Jeremiah Martin, 2018 4* BUCK, San Bernardino (Cajon), CA (OFFERED 9/27)

It all depends how many years (if any) we can keep Lake as DC. With his recruiting ability, I know he will put an extremely high priority on getting a great BUCK or 2 next class. It was evident from his Twitter activity over the weekend he knows we need pass rushers and was trying his hardest to get Martin.
Really fucking blows. Recruiting DID improve a ton this year though and no reason to think it won’t again moving forward. -
Not knowing how long Lake will stay at DC is clearly affecting our recruiting. Might be time to move on from him guys.CuntWaffle said:It all depends how many years (if any) we can keep Lake as DC. Coach K and Bob Gregory probably don’t know what a Foamposite shoe is. If you are trying to recruit black kids and don’t know what a foamposite is your definitely not gonna connect with them enough to get them.BallzDeep said:Watching his commitment video made it obvious he's way too black for Coach K to close. We should have known this was gonna happen as so as Jimmy Lake started trying to assist Coach K on Twitter and get Husky fans to show Martin love. Lowkey Lake literally asked fans to tweet at a recruit which is against NCAA rules.
Coach K can stay but Gregory isn’t valuable enough as purely a coach, we need a young black coach in his role that can connect better with players like Jeremiah Martin.
For all you honkeys a foamposite is a type of Nike sneaker.
-
Never rocked the foamposites. HS Freshman DNC rocked these Kidds which were basically one generation before the foamposites.Edwin_Bambino said:

You know Coach K wasn't getting in with Martin's barber. -
His Grandmama is the last person he talked to...

It’s amazing to me that Petersen fits nowhere in the equation in posts like these. It’s always Coach K, Malloe, etc that didn’t close.BallzDeep said:Watching his commitment video made it obvious he's way too black for Coach K to close. Because the position coaches do 90% of the recruiting. Do you understand the contact rules?RoadDawg55 said:

I don't necessarily blame coach K for not being able to close Martin. I blame him for putting us in a position where our entire edge recruiting was riding on one kid on the second signing day. He didn't even offer Martin until September!
It's K's fault for not putting us in a good position to close. -
But she came on the visit to UW!!!RDR said:

I assume each coach can only contact players x amount of the time, but I don't know any of the specifics so no, I don't. Can you elaborate?Dennis_DeYoung said:

We had a R-Fr that had 5.5 sacks last year. It’s not preposterous to believe he will eventually be a double digit sack guy.theknowledge said:Pray to Allah that Joe Tryon pans out and can play every snap of every game for the next three years. He's the only cat we have that even resembles Martin physically (6'4" 251). Everyone else is either too big/stiff or too Feeney. Feeney was awesome, don't twist.
Make no mistake, Martin is a huge loss. Getting DJ would have helped too, but Bowman at Buck and Kaho at San could be a hell of a combo. -
Head Coaches can't go on the road and eval. They can only be in-home once. The assistants can go on the road and eval, talk to people, etc and they can be in home SIX times.dnc said:

The position coaches do 90% of the recruiting and the head coach only goes in-home once and it's usually the 'best shot'. -

Same position coach can go in home six times or total of position coach visits with one kid is six times or both?Dennis_DeYoung said:

Bowman is the defense’s browning in at least one way - he wracks up statistics against weak opponents.RoadDawg55 said:

Top tier teams do not fear Bowman -

But yeah, the point remains. Really puzzling that they couldn't/wouldn't make room for DJ Johnson. If you have to put Bonerpoper in a ski mask and send him over to Kyler Manu's apartment to break his fucking legs, you do it. Whatever it takes to clear a roster spot.
I'm sure Pete will fix this like he has with all our other recruiting deficiencies... but our pass rush is going to be fucked for a couple of years until this gets sorted out. We'll probably be okay against Pac 12 dreck, but teams like Pedo St or Alabama will exploit the fuck out of it. -
Only hope really for the next year or two is that the guys we do have continue to develop and get better. It will be interesting to see what the pass rush is like next year without Vea. He was able to generate a lot of push up the middle and flush guys out. I’m not holding out high hopes for our pass rush in 2018...guntlove said:

I lamented that Martin was a huge loss. It would be amazing to have a prospect like that in the edge. I’ve said multiple times he’s really fucking good.
I also remember role players like Tevis, Jaylen Johnson, and Turpin balling out against Alabama.
Since Bowman didn’t have 5 sacks against Penn State he sucks? I saw a guy who was a very productive player for a redshirt freshman. That’s it. Hopefully he improves and becomes a double digit sack guy.
More talent is always needed, but the meltdowns every time we miss out on a guy are stupid. -
Good point you have a stellar record. Who needs talent?RoadDawg55 said:
