On KJR this am and talking about the Jimmy Lake - Kwat arrangement, and how impressed he's been with Kwat's success in keeping the defense at the highest level year over year after losing tons of talent to the NFL:

"(Kwat's) been able to put the noose around the cougar...(silence)...Excuse me...He's been able to shut down WSU in the Apple Cup."

That seems like an odd metaphor to use to help shape Millen's argument. That said, I'm going with the narrative that he thought he could make an ill-timed jab, thinking no one would ever feel he'd attempt it so it HAD to be unintentional.

Millen is one step ahead.
