    Like you, we all know actual people from these places, the vast majority of whom just want a better shot at it (as you mention). In fact, it's actually refreshing when I'm running late to talk to the guy who starts his janitor shift here at 7:00. He can't wipe the fucking smile off his face, laughs at just about anything I say, and in any conversation I engage him in, will say no less than 50 times the following two things: (1) "you have every ting here!" and (2) "so lucky ... I tell my daughta 'you so lucky' to be here". He's taking a class at some fucking CC to study for his test.

    My kids, and 99% of their privately-educated, well-traveled, club-sport trained, Kirkland cruising little brat friends, don't have that perspective . . . at all. It's nice to run into it, because I came from a shit pile (not nearly as large as his), so I get him a little.

The outrage isn't that he insulted the countries, it's that he said "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" which is basically saying "why are we letting more brown people in?". While I'm sure you and your fellow Troomps share the same sentiment, that is a ridiculous statement for the president to make in a formal meeting.

    In all fairness to our favorite mid-priced Japanese imported friend, that's not the point.

    Like you, we all know actual people from these places, the vast majority of whom just want a better shot at it (as you mention). In fact, it's actually refreshing when I'm running late to talk to the guy who starts his janitor shift here at 7:00. He can't wipe the fucking smile off his face, laughs at just about anything I say, and in any conversation I engage him in, will say no less than 50 times the following two things: (1) "you have every ting here!" and (2) "so lucky ... I tell my daughta 'you so lucky' to be here". He's taking a class at some fucking CC to study for his test.

    My kids, and 99% of their privately-educated, well-traveled, club-sport trained, Kirkland cruising little brat friends, don't have that perspective . . . at all. It's nice to run into it, because I came from a shit pile (not nearly as large as his), so I get him a little.

    Back to the poont: if this is true, and as you point out, I've no idea if it is, then it was not only a shitty thing to say, but it's actually wrong and fs. I don't want some fucking socialist from northern Europe. Do you? I want the hungry guy who is working three jobs so that his kid can have it better.

    And let me bet clear about my position. Anyone who doesn't agree with that last point is fucking stupid. Racist? Probably, but I don't care.
