What the fuck does Net Neutrality have to do with German hate speech laws?
They had Hitler, swastikas make them itchy.

I fear the government having any control on the internet - and the control however minor at this point in time will creep into much more control.
that is what is happening in Europe IMO

Anti-Nazi laws have been on the books in Germany since 1945. Your conflation of free speech with competition regulation is baffling.
Check out the EFF. They've been lobbying on behalf of a free internet since the 1990's.
https://www.eff.org/
Or, you know, the ACLU. They've litigated more first amendment cases than anyone.

Note this: at least one ISP has stated in a court filing that they believe that they have first amendment rights that net neutrality impinges upon because they see themselves as an editor of the internet:With prioritization, broadband providers convey a message by 'favor[ing]' certain speech—that prioritized content is superior—because it is delivered faster.

If you're worried about the government telling you what is and isn't okay on the internet, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. -
Net neutrality has nothing to do with this. Congratulations though, ISPs now have the power to control what you see and what you don't. No different than giving water companies and electric companies the power to slow down service to your house whenever they feel like it to extort fees. Pay up and your service will be restored to its former efficiency level. That's what you're supporting in a nutshell. Fucking educate yourself.

Bannon, houstonhusky, lebam, doogie, southerndoog, you guys are just toeing the party line on this issue. They've got this one dead wrong.

@Southerndawg @HoustonHusky @doogie waiting for you all to make one good argument in support of getting rid of NN. Red herrings and "I don't trust big government" don't cut it

The endless stream of threads dedicated to "Net Neutrality" contain many points in favor of rolling back the 2015 government regulations imposed in the name of "Net Neutrality". No point in rehashing.oregonblitzkrieg said:@Southerndawg @HoustonHusky @doogie waiting for you all to make one good argument in support of getting rid of NN. I understand that the government is broken with corruption and I understand that healthy fear of government is important. This shit though, it makes you sound like a pussy and an idiot.LebamDawg said:I fear the government having any control on the internet - and the control however minor at this point in time will creep into much more control.

If the government is that untrustworthy then we should focus on fixing it and not ceding all power to corporations. -
This...just because you don’t like the arguments doesn’t mean they don exist.Southerndawg said:

We have seen with our own eyes how fast a mega corporation can become extinct because they need cash (us) to survive.
Not so much with a heavily armed government -

I’m neutral on neutrality. Don’t follow it.
My internet works pretty good today, better than 10-20-30-40 years ago, so there’s that.
I can stream video anywhere I want in the San Juan’s today, so there’s that.
T-Mobile is now promising 5-G, seemless throughout the San Juan’s with whatever you guys are against so, I’m conflicted.
I assume this shit isn’t free to invent, design, test, implement etc.
I understand that if I want to participate in this Obvious MoneyGrab* I can buy the stock and get Rich.
I’m against what gives me best technology fastest, like we have today. -
Still relying on agency regs. Do the hard work and make it legislative. Impairing assets of private companies should have a higher bar than agency rulings.AZDuck said:Net Neutrality's not Dead

I'm learning Net Neutrality was a mis-named PowerGrab imposed by Obama to control and regulate content in 2015.
Why did Obama save us from something that was working? -
Anyone?

same reason he saved us from having to worry about health insurance?
