Over the past two seasons, Roper was the co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at South Carolina, but was relieved of his duties last month by Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp. South Carolina was last in the SEC in scoring in 2016 (20.8 points per game) and 12th this year (24.1).
