Holy fuck he moves like a TE at 280. He's going to be a skull fucker by the time he plays here.

Dreams of a 4th OL are dead? Ramos to Iowa St and Beresford to WSU.

Can tell he has tremendous feet and mobility ... very indicative of a future T prospect.

With Bain in last year's class combined with Mele in this class, we're in a really good position at the T position going forward.

I wonder if he's someone they'd put out there as a r. FR like they did McGary in a sink or swim type fashion, given he puts on the adequate weight. Wattenberg is definitely more fit at OG but he might end up at OT until Mele is fully ready.

I think a lot will depend on how others play out ...

I tend to agree with you that long-term Wattenberg's future is as a G and he'll definitely be playing there next year. However, given his experience at T I suspect that he'll be moving out to T once Adams/McGary graduate (assuming McGary isn't leaving this year). I would think it's an easier transition to get Mele into some depth snaps as a RS Frosh and then starting as a RS Soph where he should be an absolute monster after developing in the weight room. The thought of Bain on one side as a RS Junior and Mele on the other as a RS Soph is amazing to think about.

Yep I think this is the more optimal route. Curne probably starts in his second year based on what I've seen as he's a bit closer than Mele. Bain/Watt outside with Harris at Center, Curne at one OG spot and maybe Kirkland or dare I say a 5th year Henry Roberts at the other?
