Not likely. In two years, Mora has laid the foundation for what he believes will be a program that contends for BCS bowls.
After a 35-14 win over USC on Saturday, the team’s first in the Coliseum since 1997, he declared UCLA “owns this town” outside the visiting locker room. In the postgame press conference, he spouted the word “special” about a dozen times.
The Bruins’ 2013 recruiting class was their finest in years, resulting in a group of freshmen that contributed immediately and bears star potential. UCLA played 18 true freshmen this season, more than any other major-conference team.
Most important among them is linebacker/running back Myles Jack, who became the first player to ever win both Pac-12 Freshman Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year. After taunting the UW sideline in a win last month, Jack admitted “the feeling was mutual” between him and the Huskies. The former Bellevue High standout wouldn’t likely sacrifice a year of eligibility to transfer closer to home.
The only argument for Mora taking the Washington job would be his alumni ties, but doing so would also force him to give up the natural recruiting advantages of Los Angeles.
The 52-year-old has also started settling down in Southern California. His wife has worked on expanding their charity, the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, which helps at-risk children. His son, Cole, plays soccer 50 miles away at Claremont McKenna.
More likely than a departure is that Mora parlays his leverage into a contract extension, or more pay for his assistants.

CollegeDoog, AZDuck! True?!?! -
Sark to USC was "unlikely" too. When does a hometown paper ever say their coach is leaving is "likely" until he leaves then it's always "well it makes sense you can't blame him for leaving to that school".

Kinda stinks of grasping in desperation to me.

I'm sorry, but there isn't anything in that report that looks like a road block. If it is Mora's lifelong dream to be the Huskies' coach, now is the time.
Simple fact. -
If UW really wants Mora and gives him the support he will come.
So he's not coming -
Money talks.
Washington has the money, UCLA doesn't. -

The bottom line is that there is NO PERFECT TIME to leave one coaching job for another. Nowadays coaches always start foundations, their kids are in school, and they have recruits they don't want to leave.TheHB said:I'm sorry, but there isn't anything in that report that looks like a road block. Unless of course you're leaving a sinking ship... -
UW needs to nut up and make Mora a top 5 coach nationally to get it done.
-
He is set up perfectly.
The four lay ups, good talent returning ...
It doesn't get better than this.
