This really is the most pivotal, season/program trajectory type of game for us since Stanford last year. If we can tear up the UCLA script and ASU knocks off USC then the revenge game scenario becomes much more probable.
-
1000% right, but the stakes are higher than that. Adjustments in this game point to Pete's ability to adapt going forward. If we pull the same shit, TPIO.RaceBannon said:Beat UCLA and we win out and win the conference.

If we? lose to UCLA tomorrow, who is going to start firechrispetersen.com? I will donate some $$$$ towards the cause.

IMHO, TPIO is a bit too strong in the instance of a loss. With current model Pete, we're still a nationally relevant program that can compete for conference titles year in year out, in spite of the stubborn headedness in obvious areas that pisses us off. That's still a huge spread from anything we've experienced post James (Lambo and Rick are way below Pete). But at a minimum, it's a very obvious paradigm shift is needed moment- i.e., unless Pete is willing to change his philosophy we'll never have a legit shot at a NT.WilburHooksHands said:

And that's why I scheduled an all day Autocross with the PCA club for Saturday after the family road trip to Tempe. Going out in tire smoke instead of destroying a flat screen after another failed RPO. If they win, I may watch the replay. If they lose again, my Saturday wins even if I limp the car home on a flat bed. Either way, it won't be interesting.
Don't feel right about this game...9-3 sounds more likely than 11-1, IMO.

Right, but if we don't see it now, when will we see it? You think he's willing to throw half a season away?YellowSnow said:But at a minimum, it's a very obvious paradigm shift is needed moment- i.e., unless Pete is willing to change his philosophy we'll never have a legit shot at a NT.

Because he'll be able to win with this philosophy as he gets better QB's and WR's, which is all happening in recruiting right now.WilburHooksHands said:

We might all hate it, and it's a shame to throw this opportunity away. But if we had an upperclass Yankoff and quality WR's this team would be undefeated, even with the inability to prioritize the run.
Pete's going to get it done, even if he screws this year up. -
People forget that Race would have fired Don James in the late 1980's. Even great coaches can be stubborn headed fucks, especially when they've had a lot of prior success. Pete's earned years 4, 5, 6 and even if it's annoying as all fuck, we need to not change Spirit Horse's mid stream. All that said, Jake Browning sucks.dnc said:

I think that's a 928. My Dad went through a progression of 944, 928 and then finally a 911 Carrera 4 AWD. The last one was a pretty fucking cool ride and was fast as shit even with only a 260HP air cooled motor.MisterEm said:

Peterman is a Boise State head coach with a Boise State offense with a <Boise State qb.
Maybe he can be a semi successful NFL coach like dirk koetter. -
This poast is gayer than 20+ year conference title droughts. Don't project your Koetter issues on to us. Yes, your illiterate coach owns Pete right now, but he's the real deal until he's not.Pitchfork51 said:Peterman is a Boise State head coach with a Boise State offense with a

It's a fair question Keith. And frankly I don't know the answer. But I have faith that his desire to win, will override his stubbornness as a certain point. Other assistants have been DOA at some point, so why not Smith FS as some point. The obvious problem with last year is that it was somewhat of an illusion and we could blame the shitty offensive output in a few games on other factors (e.g., the cliches of we had an off night against SC or Bammer is just really good) but 7 against ASU is as big of a wake up call as you can get. And if we can't get is done against UCLA then tick, tick, tick...WilburHooksHands said:

Clarkson is easy to read. He likes all big saloons with a grumpy or flat-plane crank V8.... M167, C63AMG, Mas Quattro, M5 twin turbo, etc.
M2 is the only true sports car he's liked in the past few years, without a "flappy paddle gearbox," of course.
