It’s fun to form opinions about things that you don’t know what you are talking about ...

Once he figures out the read option things will get ugly

I know this is supposed to be a joking matter, but it's the NCAA's lawyers who are the real MVPs here. It's a victory for the rule of law over everybody else's gut instinct based on misinformation and partial facts spewed out by people with an agenda to kill big-time college athletics.

The best way to preserve college athletics is to take college out of college athletics.

    Everybody says so.

Don't think that's true, but regardless, that's not what happened at UNC.

They literally took the student out of student-athlete.

    But still.

How do you know for sure Dad wasn’t pimping him as both?

Sounds like you literally don't know what the facts of the case are.

They literally let athletes pass classes without requiring them to be students.

Well, that makes it more clear that you literally don't know what really happened at UNC. Hundreds of pages have been written on the subject following no less than four internal and external investigations of the matter, so we probably aren't going to resolve this here. But....

You'd have to start with who "they" are, whether they "let" them do anything, and what it means to require them to be "students." The keys are that "they" were not anybody involved with athletics or the upper-level administration, they didn't "let" anybody do anything because they weren't aware of what a rogue professor and the assistant in the African-American Studies department were up to, and the students were actually required to do the assigned work to get a passing grade in the class. The media has fed everybody a bunch of bullshit about "fake classes" and classes where no work was required. The classes weren't fake, they were just really easy. Or they were graded by the department's admin assistant instead of the professor, which is not allowed. And the classes weren't promoted to athletes.
