I know Petersen is going to take the high road with these ESPN fags...

I particularly enjoyed Rod "pay the players" Gilmore pumping the company line about ratings and $$$$.
Those morons LOVE to pontificate about the "student athlete" as long as no one is questioning the structure of this entire endeavor. (Insert Tom Rinaldi emoticon here).
But, as soon as Pete calls them out on this shit, they circle the wagons and the true motivation of ratings and $$$$ comes right to the forefront.
Watching these ESPN douchebags expose their true role as pimps and power brokers has been the most entertaining storyline of the day. -
Gonna be epic IF the Cuogs can keep their string alive for a couple more weeks.
Peterman will hit the media with coach-speak directness. Leech will go off on how soft the Big 12 is and how overrated and slow the Big 10 is. Praying for a FYFMFE type rant when the first CFB rankings come out.

@Stalin, some cultures celebrate death. We need a cultural appropriation form for bored members freedom of religion.

Guys that say Willingham welcomes you back to college football don't get to talk shit to Pete. Herbie should still be apologizing to us for that crap.

Herbie is pissed CP cleaned up the sewer his fat boy buddy Suckisian left here

Gilmore and Jones have always been two of ESPN's worst. I remember last year's Cal game where Jones rambled on and on about UW's CFP chances, how we? didn't look like dominant team, etc (whoa, that sound familiar!?!?). Gilmore has always just been a complete idiot.
One thing I absolutely despise about modern day (mostly ESPN) telecasts is these douchebag announcers that go into the game with an agenda and spend the entire time writing an editorial instead of doing what they are supposed to be doing: calling the fucking game.
I am thankful that I was able to watch the game at the stadium instead of on TV because I would mostly likely have put my remote through it. -
I don't even care about what they said. To be honest I'm pretty good at tuning out announcers and can't remember specifics
I like having the "fans vs Espn media" feud, though. Fuck those guys. -
And Larry Scott can Fuck Off! Just been thinking about this. Could be wrong, but doesn't feel like it. Fuck ESPN, fuck late starts. We are as dumb as MLB, killing off our fan base to get a temporary fix of TV money. We are Nebraska ditching the option to run the same offense and trying to do it better than Alabama and Florida, even though we live in a fucking frozen cornfield and nobody but (alleged) rapists would leave CA or Fla. for Lincoln.
More people watch the games if they are on later. Okay. Great. So what? Yes, we get more money from ESPN. Again, so what? Who is watching the games? Fewer people on the West Coast (ya know, sort of in our wheelhouse) but a bunch of drunks, insomniacs and degenerate gamblers on the East Coast. Is that going to turn into a big revenue stream for us? Are they going to "adopt" the UW as "their team"? No, they are whores who will just turn to whatever game is on. Meanwhile, all those kids, teenagers, and students who would be going to the games with their parents, or watching it at the Husky party they are hosting at their house, are NOT WATCHING. Or not watching more than a half. Who the fuck does Larry think is going to be the fanbase in 10 years? East Coast drunks? Just go down the line and ask Husky fans how they got to be Husky fans, and none of them are going to say it's because their dad used to stay up 'til 2 a.m. at some bar in Philly watching the Dawgs, so that's why. It's because their dad took them to the games. It's because their family tailgated at Husky stadium every home game. It's because the games were on at the house every weekend. And at 7-fucking-forty-five at night, none of that is happening. -
Sounds like UW needs their own Channel ala Texas, so that they can dictate when 3/4 of their home games start.RealRhino said:And Larry Scott can Fuck Off! Just been thinking about this. Or you can just realize that besides, USC most of the rest of the country will tune into a Big 10 or 12 or SEC matchup rather than watch #yourdawgs.
It's not about poor UW getting the short end of the stick. It's about ratings.

People along the West Coast need to get a life and watch more college football instead of all the other stupid shit they like to do.salemcoog said:

the "statistic" that shows night games are better rated than day games was asinine.
Wait, people would rather watch UW and WSU than Oregon state playing colorado? no shit... -
Plus their stat was based on 6:00 PM start times, not this 7:45 bullshit.dhdawg said:the "statistic" that shows night games are better rated than day games was asinine.

You're kind of missing the point here. Point was I don't give a fuck about what most of the rest of the country will watch. Put the games on at 1:00 p.m., and most of the West Coast, the people who might actually end up being loyal Dawg and Pac-12 fans, will watch the Huskies rather than some Miss St. vs. Auburn bullshit. And most importantly, the next generation of potential Husky (and Coug, and Duck, etc.) fans will actually grow up with having the games being a part of their family tradition, so when they are old fuckers like me they will still bleed gold and give back to the UW. And buy season tickets.
This late night argument is like saying we should be recruiting nationally rather than concentrating on the Western states. Yes, we'll get more kids interested (i.e., get more eyeballs on us) by sending recruiting literature to every kid in the country, but they won't be deeply interested and at the end of the day it will cost us the ones that would actually buy in and sign on the line that is dotted. -
I miss the days of putting the tv on mute and listening to Rondeau. Can't do that anymore because of the delay.

Maybe Chief Seattle can create a Husky Football website where there aren't any brutal suppressions of first amendment rights.Swaye said:

Hit pause on your tv for 5-8 seconds, delay gone. HTH.Tripper_Johnson said:I miss the days of putting the tv on mute and listening to Rondeau. Can't do that anymore because of the delay.
