Robert Upshaw has been tearing it up in practice! He's going to give Romar the type of player he's never had!

Add Upshaw to the long list of practice and summer workout legends at UW hoops: Ryan "Better PG Than Nate Or Will" Appleby, Joe "Giving Hawes All He Can Handle" Wolfinger, Scott "All Pac12" Suggs, CJ "Could Have Started If He Didn't Redshirt" Wilcox, Andrew "Should Have Been A Four Star" Andrews, Perris "Best Post Romar's Ever Had" Blackwell, etc.

It never ceases to amaze me how Kim, OregonDoog and others over there anoint at least one player we've never seen each offseason/redshirt year. Outside of CJ and maybe Blackwell none of those players were even quality starters, let alone the eye test legends that they were hailed to be.

If Kim and OD start hyping somebody, that's a good indicator they're going to suck.

Also, I can't wait to hear all the reports about how Jernard Jerreau's recovery is "ahead of schedule"

Blackwell looks like an 11 and 8 guy. Serviceable, but nothing special. Guys who don't dominate at San Francisco do not dominate in the Pac 12. Those guys do not understand logic.

So you mean expecting the cracker who only averaged 2 points at Florida Atlantic to dominate the Pac12 is unrealistic?

No, he has a lot of potential. His old coach, Isaiah Thomas, said so.

I used to be amused by dm.c accolades if not hyperbole propaganda over the arrival of new practice Dawgs and would callout the spin-doogs suggesting that such crap should at least wait until the pups put in some varsity time against real competition. But of course it's what dm.c does and they have to publish something,..... no matter how insignificant or irrelevant practice doogism usually is.

I will LIPO with Upshaw as it will be nice to have an actual athletic 7 footer and not Aziz "athletic". Remember when we first got Aziz how the doogman crew talked him up like he was Dwight Howard athletic?

At least Upshaw was highly regarded in HS. His first year in college was a bust but that can change.

60% free throw percentage and no offensive identity will be the Achilles heel of this Romar team.

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

We don't hold basketball to the same standard as football.

So wake me up in March.

  • Going into Roy's senior year or maybe the year after he graduated I remember reading about Harvey Perry how he had just a great workout and is ready to be that X factor.

Add Joel Smith to the list too. I believe Artem Wallace was another practice all-star as well.
