My Dad was a TUFF blue collar union liberal who voted straight Democrat from 1962 until Reagan. Never voted Democrat since then.RaceBannon said:

My dad gave money to McGovern. He was a tuff Scoop Jackson liberal
He died in 1980 so not sure if he would have gone to Reagan
He was born in a logging camp -
My old man followed pretty much the same political pathway. Union guy (Merchant marine), Carter was the last Dem he voted for. Went for Reagan in 1980, died listening to Rush Limbaugh and foaming at the mouth for GWB in 2007.Swaye said:

Someone much smarter than me said this about the election and they were right: If the Democrats would have thrown a 55 year old white man who wasn't retarded they would have won by a landslide.
Trump was a soft toss right over the middle of the plate and the Dems sent out a kid with no arm to hit it. Hilary was the trendy female follow-up to the non-white guy instead of a winner.
Swaye is into something though. We are stuck in a 50/50 universe right now. 50% want socialism, 50% want the opposite. 50% want to go back to the blue laws, 50% want weed for breakfast and religion obliterated.
The US is a half-assed country right now. We need to pick one side and go full tilt. -
