Updated Recruiting Notes: Twitter Edition

It appears to me UW had a recruiting meeting last night with the coaches, so expect Thursday evenings to be when we will get more information each week during the season. The reason I say this is because our coaches followed a shit ton of recruits last night (probably around 250 new follows overall, keep in mind, this can be guys getting followed by multiple coaches). Here are some of my main takeaways:
- From this new batch of follows, the most followed non-UW commits were (in no particular order): Aashari Croswell, Jackson Cravens, Kyler Gordon, Abdul Malik-McClain, Julius Irvin, Chris Murray, Bryan Addison, and unfortunately, Joey Ramos
- For the first time since I have been stalking coaches twitters, Jonathan Smith has actually started following Non-QB's. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing. It's likely bad. He even started following non-offensive players and 2019/2020 kids. I am impressed, but also horrified.
- Coach Pete made his first follows in MONTHS on August 1st (when official offers could go out) so I am guessing he followed these guys so he could DM them their official offers from his own account. Keep in mind he already follows a lot of our current commits and other major targets. Here are his August 1st non-committed follows: Bryan Addison, Caleb Tremblay, Dominique Hampton, and Julius Irvin
- As good as the 2018 class can be, the 2019 and 2020 (holy fuck) classes could be insane. Coaches followed a LOT of these kids. I am going to start tracking the 2019/2020 classes via twitter soon. For now I am all focused on 2018.
Couple random notes:
- Only recruit followed by every single coach? Jacob Sirmon
- Most followed recruit? Devin Culp (21 follows with coaches, recruiting staff, GA's, and recruiting interns)
- Most followed non-committed player? Julius Irvin (17), Kyler Gordon (16), Chris Murray (16)
I've been working on a lot of shit for this. Inputting the data manually with the help of @Dennis_DeYoung and another unnamed source, we honestly have no life. I hope to have something coming down the road for all of you recruiting nerds soon. Stay tuned

I fucking love your creepy ass (non sexually of course, I'm a one man man).
Biggest things that jump out at me about this:
@Babushka may have actually learned a thing or two and be getting more confident based on his recent QB success (even if he didn't have a lot to do with it) OR Pete told him "you're not sitting on your ass during recruiting for two years just because we're full of QB's, #DoSomething". Bundance?
Sounds like we? have not backed off of Hampton.
Sounds like Murray is the biggest OL target left on the bored.
Good chit. -
So your saying as long as next years class is insane then this years class doesn't matter as much???????

2020 will not be special, my take away

The information you get comes from Roof and Doogman just like everybody else. Going on Twitter and looking at a recruits retweets and seeing who he followed and who the coaches followed doesn't mean shit.

Just thought I'd give a quick update on the twitter recruiting front with our coaches. As you all know, I am a big believe in Twitter being all you really need to follow recruiting now (IT'S FREE TOO) and we had some interesting information come in over the last day.

Which recruits are our coaches following on Tinder?
-
I hear Babushka super-liked Jake Haener. Also Malloe clicked on links from a bunch of bots and also gave away his credit card info.bananasnblondes said:Which recruits are our coaches following on Tinder?

@CokeGreaterThanPepsi I want to input your data manually directly into my hard drive.

Coker you're officially creeping me the fuck out but I love it. Keep it up

Chris Brown
Caleb Tremblay
Julius Irvin
Kyler Gordon
Bryan Addison
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
Jackson Cravens
I'm going with Caleb Tremblay over Chris Brown for next money shot -
I think we? get 2 or 3 defensive committs by the end of the month. Pete probably wants to lock things up for December signing period.NeGgaPlEaSe said:Chris Brown

Coker,
How do you think UW is sitting with Tremblay and Irvin based on the Twitterverse? -
Is this "chat," because I'd like to share outside of chat?
-
This is chat. What is said here, stays here. I better not see anything discussed here out on the boards or I will start revoking posting privileges. I don't want to be the bad guy, but I will. It's really not that hard guys.Passion said:Is this "chat," because I'd like to share outside of chat?

This is actually the same prediction I have. Addison the toughest get, but he definitely seems more interested in UW than most, and with their last DB class and likely getting Aashari and others in this class, I think WHASWTKNeGgaPlEaSe said:Chris Brown

think we end up with Gordon, Brown, Tremblay, Irvin, and Zion.

We are more in play for Taylor-Stuart than most think so thank Lake for that.
