Best Position Group Heading into 2017

So, we are pretty loaded this year as a team, and it got me to thinking, where are we strongest at.

For me, it was a toss up between RB/DL/LB.

I went with RB because I believe we have four legit running backs headed into next year that would all get 100+ carries at nearly any other school in the conference.

DL is deeper than people think because WE ONLY PLAY 2 DL AND DONT PLAY DEs!!!1!

Vita/Gaines
String/Bowman
Levi/McCoy
Scrempos/Pulu

This is going to sound crazy because we have a new position coach, but I am supremely confident about the offensive line. I expect Harris to make a huge leap, and we have the best tackle duo arguably in the entire country. Shelton, as noted in the breakout thread, is my selection for breakout player on offense this year. We are going to smash people and not take names. Doog it up.

What happens if someone gets hurt up front?

    THATS WHAT I THOUGHT BITCH
Kroger, I don't think Ivan will be walking out of the locker room anytime soon.

It's not LB. We have some incredible LBs. But not the same depth as say RB (probably my choice) or DL. Also I wouldn't count out the fucking DBs. Obviously they have to prove it but I think they will be a strong contender. I think you see a few players like Joyner and McIntosh making quantum leaps. Murphy making his presence felt then of course Rapp Culture coming with the wood.

Some people think BBK could break out this year. If Beavers continues his trajectory and a couple depth players show up then LBs are in it. I just expect to see that progresdion more in the secondary.

Gaines is probably my favorite husky right now and if Bowman or someone (JAYLEN JOHNSON!) joins the discussion we're back at great depth of absolutely dominating players.

Of course Gaskin and Coleman isn't a fair combo and add our RB depth and that is the best group.

Gaines and Vea make DL the best group. String is a great #3. I assume some of the other guys will make jumps as well.

It's not an easy choice. It's a pretty ducking good roster. No UW team has approached it since I turned into an internet fan fag in 2001.

Yup. Look at our position groups and compare it to any year since 2001 lmao. Holy fuck! If you don't doog now you never will.

DL and it isn't that close. RBs are second, but with Gaines and Vea, it's really not close. Gaines eats people FFS.

    Has to be DL.

Vita and Greg are both monsters. Jaylen looked really good in the Bama game and I have high hopes for Levi. The rest is a little up in the air, but when you have two guys who are potential All-Americans in a 2 guy line, that's pretty good.

I won't be surprised when Jaylen Johnson is better than Qualls.

This is what I was hoping, that we would have an awesome OL... I like the optimism...

...but, wasn't the Alabama game plan against us to basically rush directly through our center and guards? And didn't they pretty much do that at will? Maybe USC did that too?

If you're just here to bash Center you won't last long
I'm not trying to bash the kid, I'm identifying a weakness in our OL play against top defensive teams, especially in our passing game, because opposing teams with D talent, knew how to get through the middle of our OL.

And until that weakness is fixed, I'm not as optimistic about our OL as I'd like to be.
