Paul George tells Pacers his couch is for sale
This could pave the way for the Cavs to trade for him. Everyone knows he wants to be a Laker so a three team deal with Love could bring the best return. It's an all in move for the Cavs, as they'd probably just be renting PG, but imo George gets them pretty close to the Warriors and Lebrons prime isn't going to last forever. They'd still need to find better roll players but this would make their offense better and defense way way way fucking better.

It would help a lot. PG is probably one of the better options in the league to guard Durant.allpurpleallgold said:http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19672053/paul-george-tells-indiana-pacers-leave-2018

LeBron might be able to convince PG to stay a few years. There are rumors LeBron wants to eventually play for a LA team too.
Cleveland already rightfully sold its soul to LeBron. If he wants PG, you gotta get him. -
With this news the Pacers should probably go into tank-and-rebuild mode. Which means they'll be looking for draft picks, not Kevin Love-type players who would only keep them in 8th seed or late lottery pick purgatory.
Cleveland is in a completely shit position as far as that goes... no 1st round picks available to trade until 2021 or something like that. It'll be incredibly tricky to find a good match for a 3 team trade... would have to be a team content with not competing for a ring next season but wants to in the near future.
And then the bigger problem for Cleveland here is that the Celtics might want to take a run at PG and hope he decides to stay on. They have an absurd amount of draft picks to offer (especially after the Fultz trade) and could compete with Cleveland in the East next season if they add PG to that roster. They'd finally have an 2nd elite offensive option outside of IT and someone who could actually guard LeBron (who absolutely punked them in the playoffs). -
Never mind about the Celtics being in play:
-
Celtics are playing it really smart. Ainge has set them up nicely for the annual 2nd place ribbon after the Lebron era concludes.
-
As soon as The Legend stepped down this becoming a reality was a poorly kept secret

If the Celtics can get Hayward and Butler than maybe they could get lucky and beat the Cavs. Probably not though.
Cavs will likely get George. The Cavs and Warriors will play again next June. -
Yep, the real suspense now is the 2019 Eastern Conference. If George bolts to the Lakers I don't see the Cavs having the assets to compete, which means LBJ selling the couch again. If he pussies out and stays in the East as always then whoever gets him is the favorite. If he goes west for once then Boston, Milwaukee and Philly are the most likely teams to take over the crown IMO. I don't see Washington or Toronto ever being a real threat.RoadDawg55 said:If the Celtics can get Hayward and Butler than maybe they could get lucky and beat the Cavs. Probably not though.

Cavs looking to find a trade for Jimmy Butler, have already been offered George in a three team deal.
Good call @NEsnake12
