About a quarter of the presidents LOST before becoming president. Including Ronald Reagan. So, you could say, Bernie is the next Reagan.

Bernie is the is the democratic Ron Paul, only instead of being 8 years ahead of his time he was 4 years ahead of his time. If a 73 year old Bernie could run in 2020 he could win the election, just as a 73 year old Paul could have won it in 2016.
But Paul was 73 in 2008 and Bernie was 73 in 2016.
