For getting the most out of his actual skill set/talent I think Jake is probably the best QB in the country. Half the metro high school QB's in this country have a stronger arm than him.
Why Smith thinks it's a good idea for him to throw 35 yard rainbow wobblers all the time behind receivers I will never know. -

I really hope Jake can overcome his Brownsocksing. Primarily because I'm a UW fan and I want to win games, but also because Jake is a 'good kid' and I want to root for him.
Sadly, between his Brownsocksing and @Babushka's insistence on him throwing deep constantly we embarrassed ourselves vs. USC and Alabama.
I don't really GAF about the Bama loss, but the USC loss not only was embarrassing, but allowed USC to have all the momentum they do. -

Agree, USC was a winnable football game, injured Brownsocking or not. It's possible for all of these things to be true: (1) Browning has not played at his best in big games; (2) he has not exhibited the strongest leadership under duress; (3) he has physical limitations that aren't going to change; (4) he was playing hurt down the stretch last year; (5) UW threw long too much last year, due in part to Ross's presence; (6) Browning is still only entering his third year in the program; (7) he works his ass off and continues to get better; (8) he's already one of the 3-4 best UW QBs in my lifetime.
I think it's a good thing he's getting hit with "overrated" talk. It will keep him hungry. The next two years are gonna be fun. -

Browning is overrated. One need only look at Darnold to see Browning's deficiencies. 2 years and he's only made 1 long throw in perfect stride (td to Pettis vs ASU). He hit long balls last year, but Ross, Pettis had to slow and wait for ball every time. As a frosh, he flat overthrew guys, last year he underthrew. This year I have high hopes he can lead a receiver like a good qb does.
Pup brought up fact Jake didnt hit 1 long throw in stride his entire freshman year on HH after the season( which of course fatters picked up on the next day in an article he wrote). Then just 1 in '16. (Pup watched every game in 60 both years, Feathers didnt bother, just poached Pup's content as gospel)
Browning is slow to release ball. Against good defenses he's petrified to throw with command down the seam. He feels safe throwing to sidelines...thats where he completes longest throws, save for 'gimmie' quick-hitter slants over middle. He needs confidence to step up in pocket, vs a heated rush, and deliver quickly down the field. Having Hunter Bryant will give him that opportunity, like Perkins afforded him the year before.
I think browning makes a massive jump forward this year in his developement. Puppy usually right about this shit -
