I'm curious who the next offer will be with him likely going to Oregon. Seems the only DBs we're in on are Gordon, Irvin, and Harrison currently.

This years West Crop of DBs isn't deep at all.
Good news is we probably lead for all three.

    What?

It's an amazing class of safety's. The corner class isn't deep but a lot of the guys rated safety or athlete could play corner.

Well, good luck to the young man wherever he goes.

I wonder though - I'm sure he paid some attention to the recent nfl draft ... how many ducks got picked?

I've forgotten how many Huskies were chosen ... can't remember what positions either ...

Looks like he's committing tomorrow (5/1). I think it's either UW or Oregon, but definitely a heavy heavy lean towards Oregon based on his twitter feed. UW's Logo is just colored on for his tweet mentioning the commitment date.

    HH HTML shit isn't working.
Here's the glass half full approach ... UW logo is closest to his head ... when you look right at his image you see Washington too ... and it's the only logo that's "custom" ... amirite?

I'll ignore all the other signs like he's retweeting mostly Oregon stuff ...

Tom Loy is balling him to Oregon
The 6-1, 182-pounder from the class of 2018 has narrowed his list of 14 offers down to a select three — Notre Dame, Oregon and Washington. He'll announce his commitment around 3 p.m. ET.

    On Notre Dame...

"They really stepped in and put a pause on the recruiting process for me," said Holland. "The name is big-time. The school is big-time. I really appreciate their effort. It was on another level. I enjoyed talked to the coaches and had to have them in my final group. Great guys and great people."

    On Oregon...

"Coach Taggart is such a good guy," said Holland. "He separates himself. He makes you feel at home. He's just a good, all-around person and he makes you feel as though you're already a part of his program."

    On Washington...

"Just look at the strength of the defensive backs," said Holland. "That's a great group. Coach Heyward, coach Peterson. They're great coaches. Coach Peterson is a really impressive guy and he's very friendly. Both of those guys really care about their players."

The 247Sports Crystal Ball is currently split between UCLA and Oregon with one pick each.
Doesn't Heyward work for us? now?

Yeah I guess you're on about that. One of Lake's more recent follows was Tariq Bracy, who's undersized, but 247 sees him as a top-300 player.

Jimmy Lake is going to have a tough year

Yeah, he'll need to be perfect from here on out, but if Gordon wants Stanford and Tre'Shaun wants to be a WR, this class isn't looking too hot.

Recruits know he is taking couch measurements, so unless they sold on Pete we going to get blown out

I'm not so sure they know that. Case and point is this fuckhead that thinks Heyward is our? DB coach.

Byron Murphy looks like he's probably going to start opposite Jordan Miller this year. Myles Bryant will be the nickel, with Rapp Culture and Jo Jo starting in the back end. There does not appear to be a whole lot of opportunity to come in and play right away at this point. Not to say that losing on Gordon, Harrison, or Irving would be a good thing, but I do think that maybe in a weak year for DB's out west, this might not be as bad as what is being made.

Lake hasn't gotten blown out on a recruiting class yet. He's badass until he isn't.

WTF? He doesn't need to be anything close to perfect from here out. We don't even know what position UW is recruiting Harrison at, but even if it's not safety there is plenty of depth in this class. As long as Lake doesn't lose Gordon it's virtually guaranteed to be a solid class.

Irvin, Gordon, Harrison is a monster class and is easily in play. But we could easily lose one of those guys and still pull a strong DB class, potentially even two depending on how things shake out.

And if they really want Holland I'm not convinced he's off the bored. Everyone commit together shit rarely holds. Can Taggart hold onto high profile recruits for 8 months?

    We'll see.
I probably phrased this wrong. Obviously we have back up options who could be great, but if its a 3 DB class and we're only in on 3 remaining offered DBs, he'll need to be perfect in that case. We've found studs in Jordan Miller and Sidney Jones who weren't super highly ranked, so I'm not super worried in that regard.

And obviously like any recruit, there's a chance players decommit. Lenzy could leave if Kelly is canned among other things that might open up another potential target.

I've been predicting this exact scenario for awhile, though the early signing period might complicate things.

Honestly let's face it. Both Oregon and Washington
have nice starts to their class. Doesn't matter to a hill
of shit though if you don't land quality bodies on both lines.
Until Malloe and Huff pull their heads out, we'll just be
cannon fodder for the elite teams. Wake me up when
we start beating out others for quality beef.

I'm not getting my hopes up. Our primary DT signing will likely be Sam Vakalahi or something unless Malloe and Kwiat (who are/will be in Texas soon) pull something out of their ass in Texas.

Just ignore the first two paragraphs where you assume UW is getting Tre’Shaun and Gordon. ;)
