University of Montana for me. Had only OK grades in HS and was easy to get into out of state. Was haunted by the waters of Missoula like Norman Maclean and planned to be a fly fishing bum all through my college years. In state option was University of Utah and watching UTEP, Wyoming, Air Force, etc. on wooden bleachers in old Rice Eccles Stadium didn't seem that appealing.
Alas, the row boat team needed tall dudes and got me into UDub out-of-state which I would have had no shot at otherwise.

Undergrad was UC Davis. UCLA was my third choice for grad school, after Cal and furd (FUCK YOU, CONDI), with UCSD, USC, and UCSB on the lower end. I was in my second year at UCLA before I was able to get USC to finally quit begging me to go there.YellowSnow said: -
