    LOL come on

    If UW hired Archie Miller

THAT would be a similiar hire to Petersen.

Petersen was a head coach. Hopkins is an assistant coach. Hopkins feels like a Sark hire

Totally with you until the last line. The Sark comp is extremely lazy. They were both assistants. That's basically it. 1) hired by a school with failing programs 2) hired to replace a legendary black coach 3) learned under a "great coach" 4) being paid millions to learn on the job etc etc etc
    Fixed

    1. And if we would have hired Gregg Marshlall that would have still been true. Has nothing to do with whether or not Hopkins is a good hire.
    2. Legendary? Sure.gif. Again, this would have been the same similarity if we had hired Archie Miller. So yeah, good point.
    3. You can say that about basically any coach UW has ever hired in my lifetime. Lambo, Neuheisel, Gilby, Ty, Sark. Shit people made the same claim about Romar.
    4. Learn on the job isn't something that actually happens as has been laid out multiple times already.

The only real comparison of any substance is that he's unproven. That's a legitimate point. But he's not sizzle like Sark, he's a balding white dude with no dude brah in him. He's a lot more proven than Sark was as an assistant over a long period of time (and with Team USA). He came out of nowhere - Sark was thrown out as a candidate by a poaster on this very site. Nobody saw Hopkins coming.

He's just not that similar of a hire to Sark. Maybe he'll have similar results, maybe not.

    EWIWBI.

Pointed out by you, no matter how false it is.
But feel free to have that new pilot land your plane or handle an inflight problem that may occur, having skipped his "learning on the job period"

Right Because Brock Huard always shoots from the hip when broadcasting. He was for keeping Romar last week, at least on the radio.

Dudes a good College Football color man. But He's a milktoast mouth piece when it comes to anything related to Seattle sports on the radio.

Maybe he'll suck maybe he won't, at least he brings hope and kept Conroy.

Seems like he hired two good assistants too. He probably won't be all-zone all of the time like Boeheim to keep things fresh.

It also sounds like he liked Jimmy Johnson's Hurricanes:

I really hope he goes zone, it's the only system he's ever known and coached. And no dnc, the Olympic all star teams don't count.

I hope we have mothafuckers who do blow on weekends and pimp out hoes! Those were Romar's best teams! Hi @VenoysPinkyRing

You will not be disappointed with Hopkins. We at Syracuse are very sorry to see him go , as he was our succession plan to replace Boeheim. I am now a Husky fan!
