I really dislike this culture we have of playing gotcha with good, smart people who might have misspoke

How many times have I heard about 57 States?
Don't you think that's a little different though? For someone who has consistently denied being a Muslim it was a very Muslim thing to say. There wasn't to my knowledge any big movement to argue Ben Carson thinks slaves are immigrants prior to this statement. That was also a tough thing to be a slip of the tongue, fifty is much easier to say than fifty-seven.

And no, I don't think Obama is a Muslim (or born in Kenya) (or a Christian, but that's another debate). Combine 57 states with "My Muslim faith" and there were some extremely convenient coincidences for those who want to argue he is a Muslim though.

Sounds like it bothers you he's so much smarter than you.

Obama is much closer to Christianity than Trump is.

But the slip was he meant to say 47 states, not 57. Not that big of a deal.

Right. The Ben Carson thing wasn't a slip of the tongue. It was a prescribed thought out comment. Both these Obama comments were during live, unscripted interviews. Tell me you can see the difference.
