The "progressives" deserve 8 years of Trump if they're going to be giant pussies about this. Welcome to the real world, where not everything is going to go your way.
Now I personally think that this is a colossal mistake, putting an establishment Dem with close ties to Obama and Clinton in charge of the party. But "progressives" are fucking idiots if they're going to straight up divide the party when that's the last thing that needs to happen if they want to win 2018 house seats and the 2020 election.
Win first, even if it's not winning in their "ideal" way, then bitch about inner-party politics. -

Here's the truth, progressives are the democratic base. When you shit on your base you lose. You don't see republicans telling the religious right to get fucked. Even Trump is kissing their ass on abortion. One of the first things they did was go after Planned Parenthood. That's not about right and wrong, it's about appeasing their base. Democrats wanna fuck around and put their donors above their base then they'll lose every election forever. -
