I'm so glad I live somewhere that has like no cops. A city of over 100,000, yet I will go a whole week without seeing a single cop driving around. And the one time I actually did get pulled over, I had just left the bar after drinking 8 beers, and the cop didn't even care and just told me that my tabs were expired and needed to be renewed. It's nice living here...you actually feel like you're living in a free country.
I honestly don't think that drinking and driving is nearly as dangerous as they say it is. We don't even have all the facts surrounding it. They spew out bullshit like some high % of crashes "involve" a drunk driver. Couple problems with that,. First of all, why don't they tell us how many crashes are caused by drunk drivers? And where is the data that tell us how many people are driving drunk at any given moment? If we don't know that, then we don't know shit. It's all a big fucking money grab by local governments, fueled by the irrational hatred and craziness of middle-aged women which most people don't dare to question. "My son died because a guy drank 2 bottles of whiskey and then decided to drive at 2 am, passed out at the wheel, and ran a stop sign at 80mph...therefore anyone who has 4 beers and drives deserves to have their life completely fucked over."
Besides, how are we supposed to GET GOOD at drinking and driving if the cops won't let us practice? There's something to be said about that.
Anyway...fuck Oregon and go Huskies. -

If I hadn't drove drunk for the better part of a decade when I was in my 20's I could probably whip up some outrage but I hate to see this guy get fired for a DUI just because Oregon doesn't want bad pub. The assistant that is. If they fire Taggert it would make the Neuheisel firing look well thought out.
It is SAAD when someone is hurt by a drunk driver and it makes people MAAD but what the fuck.
