Think it is in the 900K range. Pretty high for a first time DC, but Washington may have more money up their sleeves. Should get interesting.Baseman said:

Sure: Cal sucks -
it's not his indecision, it's cal bureaucracy. notice you hero hasn't tweeted PurpleReign for 2 weeks.

Obviously the hang up is Lake's request to kill the Cal fags poasting on HCH before he accepts any offers.Baseman said:Our DB coach's indecision over whether to accept Cals $1 million offer and coordinator position speaks volumes for your football program

One of the larger themes that has come from Petersen's contract extension talks and even going back to when he signed his original deal here was all tied to making sure his assistant staff to be compensated well.
Cohen has also established over time that she's willing to invest in the football program and season ticket prices have slightly increased this year ... I'd expect part of the reason is to cover expected increases in coaching salaries for retention. Add to it the highly likely increased interest from boosters and I don't see any particular reason to think that we can't cover an extra $200k or whatever needed to make the money situation right.
We will unquestionably lose Lake at some point as a DC/HC somewhere. But we'll step up to at least the money situation where it needs to be to give significant pause against shit DC/HC opportunities. -

First the money. if UW goes to $1 mil on Lake, their assistant coaches pool will increase by $2+ million (nearly double what the Asst coaches pool is now)
If UW pays Lake $900k they'll have to pay Kawasaki $1 to $1.1m. $1 million raise between the two of them
Jonathan Smiths contract is up. Yes he sucks but he's still around and I'm unaware of any program that would pay one cordinator half of what the other coordinators make.
You'll have to step up for Hamden and Iloe.
You can play fantasy AD and say fuck them but let's be real. That's not what happens.
By paying a non cordinator a 7 figure salary you've just reset the entire pay scale for a program that is running a huge defect and heavy debt load.
But again, I'm a shit Poaster and it's just MO -

Washington doesn't have an income tax, so $900K at Cal is like $600K here

If they keep winning cures all kinds of shit. If continues to consistently deliver 10+ win seasons. Attendance will be up and boosters will be willing to donate for winning footballBaseman said:

Absolutely. Add merch to the equation, too. The malls were loaded with purple and gold shit that flew off the shelves when UW was going to meaningful bowels every year.WeakarmCobra said:
