Agreed. It Seems as though they would prefer the smaller more athletic types over the bigger guys unless they are really elite like a Wyatt Davis.Dennis_DeYoung said:
Well, Wattenberg and Norgaard are basically carbon copies: they are super athletic and run really well.AtomicDawg said:
I don't know what the staff wants in a guard, but he looks like he could be a mauler.Dennis_DeYoung said:
I like him a lot, personally.AtomicDawg said:Is quazzy that bad that we really don't want him?
Quazzy is probably not quite as athletic as they like. I really like him, though. I think he could be a really good player for us. -
He's not a 4-star. Their other O Line commit, Powell, is.Passion said:Speaking of cuog recruits, how is this guy a 4-star with so few offers, but Ty Jones still has 3-stars?
Reason #3463 why the star system completely stupid. -
I meant to link to Powell: scout.com/player/199434-dontae-powell?s=147bananasnblondes said:

I think he's a good player, but he has grades and attitude problems apparently.Passion said:

Good thread.
Apparently the WSU coaches might have cooled on him. Because they have so many DEs he might have been encouraged to look at other options. -
It looks like they look for guys with the right frame who are quick on their feet, even if they aren't carrying the ideal size yet. Mobility is a huge thing for zone blocking and while the Husky run game uses both zone schemes and gap schemes, it is pretty clear they put a premium on guys with the athleticism to be prototype zone blocking OLs.Dennis_DeYoung said:

It especially makes sense since pin & pull/buck sweep is the base outside run play. That asks a lot of guards in terms of the amount of ground they have to cover. A big slow-footed mauler messes that scheme up completely.
