David Gilbertson serves as an offensive football analyst for the Bulls. After joining the Bulls staff in the summer of 2014, Gilberston served the 2015 season as an assistant coach in charge of tight ends for the Bulls. During his tenure, he helped Sean Price post a career year in his senior campaign grabbing 19 passes for 296 yards and five touchdowns while finishing his career as USF's all-time career leader in receiving by a tight end.

Gilbertson played quarterback at Washington State, where he was recruited by and played for former USF offensive coordinator Paul Wulff and then Mike Leach. He earned two letters and was a Pac-12 All-Academic honoree during his five seasons on the team before graduating in 2013 with a degree in communication. He saw action in several Cougars games as a holder on special teams and as a back-up quarterback.



His father, Keith Gilbertson, served as head coach at the University of Idaho (1986–1988), the University of California, Berkeley (1992–1995), and the University of Washington (2003–2004) as well as a pair of assistant coaching stints with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks in a coaching career of more than 40 years. He currently is the director of pro personnel for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns.


Gilbertson was a two-time All-King County honoree and team captain as a quarterback at Redmond High School in Washington, throwing for more than 3,000 yards and 19 touchdowns in his last two seasons. As a senior, he threw for 1,977 yards and 13 touchdowns and scored four rushing touchdowns, including setting a school record with 26 completions while throwing for 323 yards and three touchdowns against Eastlake HS.
