Beavers splits the double to make tackle

Most impressive to me on this play is look at where our DTs are in relation to the LOS ... most Bama games the OL has pushed the DL 2-3 yards down the field by the time the RB hits the hole ...

    This happened all game

    TD

An instance of where the OL giving time really helped to sell the play and why it was so difficult to move the ball on Alabama:

    1) Need great OL protection ...

    2) Move Pettis out of backfield to create a second of confusion in Alabama's defense regarding responsibilities ...

    3) OL giving time allows Pettis to sell the double move of a hitch before go'ing ...

    4) Alabama's secondary being so aggressive worked against them here as Humphrey bit hard on the hitch ...

    5) Still took a perfect throw to the back pylon as Humphrey recovers well and puts himself in a position to defend an underthrown ball

    Butta pressure

Really unlucky there that Hurts was able to get the extra couple of yards on the throw to get it all the way out of bounds where we only were able to get grounding on the play ... if that stays in bounds and Rapp catches it it is a Pick 6 as NOBODY was anywhere near that side of the field for Alabama other than a WR that was 20 yards further down the field with multiple UW players between him and Rapp

    Perfect call against us ...

McGary probably should have blocked down but that's a really hard block for him to make and run the risk of turning one of their most dangerous pass rushers loose ...

Browning's got to be able to not have the deer in headlights look going there and either skip that ball to Coleman or throw it way out of bounds to take the incompletion and move forward ... the throwing off of his back foot trying to avoid getting hit is Pussy101

Pretty athletic by Qualls (didn't think he had that great a game tho)

Qualls was ok ... he was asked to do a lot in the game playing SAM and containing the outside ... that really showed on Hurts's long run to start the 3rd quarter where he crashed too hard down and lost the outside containment

When you look at a lot of these run plays one of the things that comes back is looking at how we set the edge and force plays to be turned back into the oncoming masses

This kills me, should have been a 4 yard gain & punt. Rapp culture salvages some manhood

Instead of forcing the ball carrier to dictate direction BBK goes hard to force the blocker to take him and ball carrier to Bierria ... Bierria about 1/2 step late there in making the play ...

A play where a lot of little things really came back to haunt us

i know it's sarkesque to say this, but 3-4 plays were really the difference in this game.

    I'd go with about 6 plays ...

    1) Budda's dropped INT

    2) Prior to the first TD, Scaborough hurdling King where King had a shot to make a tackle for no gain or slight loss ... if I remember right that was a 2nd and 9 or something like that play ... we immediately got ran over after that for a TD

    3) The Ross fumble

    4) Browning INT leading to a Pick 6

    5) PSALM's fumble and inability to fall on it while pushing it 10 yards down the field where only an Alabama guy was (even if the fumble was just near him we likely are the ones that recover)

    6) Inability to stop on 3rd and 9 at the 3

Yep. The Psalm non recovery of the fumble. The Budda non interception. The stupid int. by Browning. The defensive delay of game (hand clap) on 'Bama that wasn't called. The Ross fumble.

No excuses - 'Bama caused these things to happen. But, we had a chance. .

We scored anyway on the Budda non INT. Psalm fumble was huge. He made a great play. Ross fumble was unfortunate. He had two hands on the ball, he just got beasted.

The Pick 6, the 3rd and 8 run from the goal line and the 70 yard TD run all make me want to break shit around me.
    Completely missing the point ...

The Budda INT would have given us the ball in a scoring zone ... if he kept his feet on the play it's possible that it's a scoring play for us ...

To win the game we needed at least 10+ points off of turnovers that allowed us to have short fields and not have to dial up a long series of great plays to get a score ... the fear going into the game was that we'd have to consistently move it 70-80 yards to get a score on Bama as that just wasn't going to be realistic ... that's how it played out.

Not to mention that if you get the early score, a stop, then another score, you've got Alabama in an early hole and the potential for them to slightly press increases ... at minimum it probably takes away the ability that they had to take the air out of the ball and not have Hurts throw it ... after that potential INT from Budda Bama noticeably took the air out of the ball and focused on the run as long as the game was even to them being ahead.

Fairly certain that that is a fine for Allen in the NFL
