Washington (plus-14) vs. Alabama Dec 31 (Peach Bowl, Dec. 31): The line has inched to 15, which isn’t high enough for Chris Petersen’s liking — he’d probably like 20+ — but is also too high. Not sure how a Husky offensive line that couldn’t block USC will handle Jonathan Allen and Co., but Washington’s defense will hold its own against Alabama’s attack. Combine Petersen’s skill, the time to prepare, the low expectations, UW’s playmakers (both sides of the ball), the mediocre SEC and the potential for Bama overconfidence … and this should be a tight game for at least three quarters. I would not be shocked if UW wins, only mildly surprised. Pick: Washington.
