When I ask the students what reason do they have for it sucks, their answer is often because they do. Most of the times the kids can't even give one valid reason of evidence to support their opinion which means they are just regurgitating what society or their parents are saying."
He didn't mention the kids formed their opinions by actually watching the Apple Cup (sober) and not visiting Cougfan.

My parents don't give an f about the the coog or the doog.. My dad kinda cares but meh.. I just saw UW always kill the coog and they were from Seattle... Been a doog since i can remember #mydoogstory

With a few exceptions, I can't remember any teacher giving a flying fuck about college football teams.
