Four of the six are made by European firearms manufacturers. Way to support American jobs, Breitbart

I shopped small and bought locally. I'm a hero

So did I, back in 1992. Was moving to DC, didn't know quite what I was getting myself into, wanted something cheap that I could throw in the river if I needed to. Got a Davis P380. Fucking thing jams 40% of the time. Not a good ratio. Tried to sell it back to a gun dealer several years later; he wouldn't take it, even to destroy. So I asked what I was supposed to do with it, and he replied "Maybe use it as a drag anchor."doogie said:I shopped small and bought locally. I'm a hero

Shield is a nice gun.
Soon, most of us will be able to conceal carry in all 50 states! -
I bought my wife the Glock 43 last year. Great gun.

Glocks are too boxy in my small hands. Had a SIGP220 for a few years back in the day, couldn't shoot it very well either, so I traded it for a Mini-14 (Team Ruger - love my GP100)GrundleStiltzkin said:I bought my wife the Glock 43 last year. Great gun.

Never really liked Glock much, nothing wrong with them but I prefer HK.

HK P7M8 has the smoothest action of any gun I've fired.section8 said:Never really liked Glock much, nothing wrong with them but I prefer HK.

Nicest pistol I ever shot was a full-size Kimber 1911

So I'm catching up on my Economist reading in the waiting room of my kid's dojo last night when one of the instructors comes out of the locker room in street clothes on his way out, sees me sitting there, and sits down to ask me how my kid is handling the transition from youth karate to adult classes. We talk about it a bit, and I see that he's got a Glock case at his side, so I ask about it. He says he's selling it to a client but the client didn't show, so he has to take it home. I ask what model, and he cracks the case, pulls it out, checks it, then hands it over to me. Model 19, version 3, whatever that means. This one feels weird in my hands too, the handle is just too long right under the trigger guard for my middle finger to be comfortable. I tell him about my tragic affair with my SIGP220, and how I always wanted a P230 but could never find them when I was looking for them, and now you can't get them because they've been superceded by the P238, so he tells me they're too expensive for what they are (still very good) and I should look at the Bersa Firestorm instead, a comparable .380, well balanced and accurate for less than half the price. He then invites me up to the Scotts Valley Gun Club, where he is a member and guests are free, to go shoot with him sometime, and I should being that Mini-14 with me because they have an indoor rifle range too. I sense a bromance in the air.
tl;dr: Forbidden love blooms over guns at the dojo -
