What exactly was Tedford's role? Was he actually calling plays or in Smith's ear in the box?

According to the Fresno Bee, Tedford returned to Seattle after the press conference. He is supposed to be in Fresno Tuesday for good.

Really hard to believe he was at the game on Saturday.

He was definitely in the box so what else is he going to do there?

I believe he did call plays but told the offense it was Smith calling. Hoping to steal our recruits and get everyone to grad transfer to fresno state to keep playing for him.

He couldn't call plays. I think his big role was watching game tape of teams ahead of time. He sat right next to Smith in the press box so I am sure he was offering his thoughts in between series. I would be shocked if he was saying to call specific plays within a series because there is just so little time to have a few guys chiming in on a play with the play clock winding down. It can become a mess.

So yeah: Film prep, in game probably talked shit over between series.

By you mean he couldn't call plays he isn't allowed to communicate with players. He could tell Smith exactly what to do. That being said I agree with you that it is unlikely he was calling explicit plays on a down by down basis.

So itwas hey kid. Pretend im not here.

No more training wheels. Time to pedal on your own. Just don't flip over the handle bars.

I see Smith as the kinda guy who prefers roller blades over a bicycle.
    Okay that was funny. HAHA.
