Slingblade Gets Fired, Right?

Comments
-
Should have been fired at the end of the pregame Senior Day festivities.
-
No. We're patient at Oregon
-
At first I thought he'd get another year so they could give Scott Frost another year of experience at UCF.
But they're really fucking bad. He might have to go. They're on their way to being as inept as Oregon State was in the 80s, or WSU in the Doba/Wulff years. They're bowl ineligible after this and that gets you into the same death spiral we were in.
I do think he's gone. This could be a 3-9 year with the only wins over Virginia, UC Davis, and ASU. If they fire him, who do they bring in? They will want a link to the Kelly years, but too soon for Frost to take over a rebuild.
-
I disagree. Chip was an anomaly out of the Rich Brooks tree. Bellotti, Al, Zoom, Greatwood, Campbell, Pellum, and Neal are old men.DongJames said:At first I thought he'd get another year so they could give Scott Frost another year of experience at UCF.

Chip, Azz, and Frost were outsiders that weren't there very long and don't seem to have any interest in returning.
They will drain the swamp so to speak. -
They should fire him and hire Rich Rod.
#BestCoachInTheConference -
Billy Bob Thornton could do better. Might as well have the real Slingblade. Fucking loser helfrich. Paid millions to destroy a team.
-
Canzano just Tweeted Pat Kilkenny wants some radio time at noon on Monday. He should be toast.
-
I sort of wish whOregon was 5-5. That would probably be enough to keep him.
But this is funny too
They aren't getting a great coach. Chimp was a diamond in the rough. -
Hee gone snowflake. Hee gone.
-
The Oregon mega-donor most of you haven't heard from, Pat Kilkenny, is apparently going to be on John Canzano's radio show Monday. Apparently Knight, Kilkenny, Mullens and other Oregon big wigs were seen conferring under the west goal posts during the 4th quarter. They weren't at Helf's post-game "it's on me" presser.
Either the dreaded vote of confidence or he gets shit-canned between now and Canzano's show on Monday. -
^ hell leave a note on the front door of his house. Bye!
-
Under slightly different circumstances they would have had your* our* current coach, and before you* we* had him, Boise fucking State had him. Hopefully that puts that idea to rest.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:I sort of wish whOregon was 5-5. That would probably be enough to keep him.

But if not, consider this: Knight just handed the school $500 million for some stoopid fuck science buildings, just because he can. And he is by no means done throwing cash their way.
Don't kid yourself; Oregon can get a coach. This is not your older brother's Oregon program.
Best thing that could have happened to this faggoty fan base would've been for Helfire to win 8 or 9 games a year consistently, sneaking into the Holiday once in a while.
This is happening faster than I thought. And they are by no means bereft of talent. This is 100% coaching. It's krisvashon obvious. -
Way to plagiarize my shit fuck-o.AZDuck said:The Oregon mega-donor most of you haven't heard from, Pat Kilkenny, is apparently going to be on John Canzano's radio show Monday. People forget, Leech still needs to win his next two games and a bowl to catch up to Doba's winning percentage.DongJames said:At first I thought he'd get another year so they could give Scott Frost another year of experience at UCF.

Brady hoke has proven that he's ready for the promotion

Moos is famous for keeping a short list of coaches in his top desk drawer. But, when a guy like Mark Helfrich is suddenly available at the exact moment you find yourself with a vacancy, that list goes right out the window.
-
One of Oregon's D-Tackles was just busted for meth last night.
Pleade can this fucker and hire PJ Fleck. -
Helf hasn't had control of the team since Mariota left. Marcus was the leader. Calling it a dumpster fire is an insult to all decent dumpsters and fires. But, that's all beside the point, I just logged back in so I can talk shit about the Doogs laying a turd on national TV.
I knew it would happen, cuz all the gay fans - many here- were so excited about Game Day and the salmon toss and all that gay stuff. I know you guys don't have any experience with it, but if you're ever again good enough to warrant a GameDay visit, decline it.
The players sit around all day thinking how great they are and texting all their relatives and childhood friends and they go out and shit the bed. Unless you're Bama, Ohio St or Western Michigan, it's just another way to lose. -
-
Gone like a freight-train, gone like yesterday
Gone like a soldier in the civil war, bang bang
Gone like a '59 Cadillac
Like all the good things that ain't never coming back
Helfrich's gone (gone) gone (gone) gone (gone) gone, Helfrich's gone -
Dana Holgerson is the next Oregon head coach.
-
Sounds like Helfrich is serious about winning.Mosster47 said:One of Oregon's D-Tackles was just busted for meth last night.

an in depth analist of the show
"highlights"
- Phil Knight offering $10 million for a potential next football coach "an out and out fabrication" - no shit, it was darren rovell
- He also was blunt about the "really tough job" that Mullens has regarding his decision whether to keep Helfrich, who has three years remaining on a $17.5 million contract initially signed in January 2015. He would be owed a buyout of $11.6 million if fired after the season - lmao
- The Ducks have not won on the road this season - damn, had no idea this was the case
lipo statements
- declined "to go down that path" when asked whether embattled coach Mark Helfrich should return next season - fuck, sling could be dead
- "Next year I'm confident we'll be a lot better. Beyond that someone else will deal with the details." - big, if true
- 'Part of the reason why coaches get compensated very significantly is they're not given mulligans' - yep, super fuckin dead
- "... Having said that, it's not just about winning games, it's about making sure your leadership is someone you're proud of. We certainly have that in spades." - or not! we still got a puluse here -
Slingblade is our Gilby. The only thing we've got going for us is that our administration is SERIOUS about football.
-
Slingblade is a goner. No question about it. Oregon won't stand for any coach going 1-6 in conference.
-
I think he gets another year and it will be a terrible decision.RoadDawg55 said:Slingblade is a goner. No question about it. Oregon won't stand for any coach going 1-6 in conference.
He hired Pellum and that was a disaster. The schematics of the defense made little sense, but they were disciplined and played hard. The year they made the NC game they lead the nation in takeaways. It was a bend-don't break, but try to get takeaways type of thing. It wasn't a good plan overall and everyone could see it. Sling was correct to stop it early before it became a part of the culture.
He hires Hoke and this mother fucker can't coach a lick of football. He didn't even wear a head set as a head coach. If that doesn't scream "I'm not involved with how we play" then nothing does. I've been coaching offense for a long time now and every play I can tell you where the two lineman are going to the same gap or which linebacker is going to take on a lineman head up. It's literally like if you let the drunk asshole in the bar next to you that traded in his helmet for a Miller Lite after freshman year run the defense. Stanford called a timeout and the Ducks sent 14, fourteen, FUCKING FOUR-TEEN kids out there to play defense and had to burn a time out of their own.
This means in real time he was so confused that he talked about three or four different packages and didn't really communicate which one he wanted so they all went out in week fucking 10! Zero and I mean zero coaches worth a shit from Pop Warner to the Patriots wouldn't have a problem with their guys going to their gap in a one gap defense after 10 weeks. Zero. Every other play two duck defenders will shoot the same gap and the backer will get gobbled up by a lineman and we hope that toothpick freshman white kid will tackle the running back with a full head of steam in open space from his safety position.
Kilkenny mentioned the rest of the staff that has jobs and families.
Sling gets $11 million, he is fine.
Campbell has a 30 years PERS pension.
Greatwood has a 25 year PERS pension.
Pellum has a 20+year PERS pension.
Neal has a 10 year PERS and a great resume.
Hoke is fucking loaded.
Lubick is a head coach's son. Dad will bail him out.
Yost has the resume to go anywhere.
Aiken will go back to the NFL.
The staff will walk away loaded and retired or into a lateral position at worst.
If Sling is back next year then Oregon isn't serious about football. HD Television isn't kind to those who aren't serious anymore. Your fan base will be fucking gone almost overnight. Que the empty Husky Stadium pictures. -
