Assuming it's true (or will be) it would be naive to think Pete wouldn't consider it. I think he considers it but I doubt he takes it. A few reasons why:

    A. Pete doesn't seem like someone who enjoys change. While some enjoy the excitement and drags if a new locale, new job and meeting new people, Pete seems like someone who hates all those things. I think it's why he stayed at Boise so long despite getting much bigger offers.

    2. Helfrich. Pete seems loyal to a fault. He wouldn't want to hurt his fren.

    3. Oregon might have a higher ceiling than UW as a program now thanks to facilities, money and national profile, but the ceiling isn't much higher if any and the short term prognosis for UW is significantly better. Oregon has a QB but a terrible defense, and while they might have more TBS certified "talent" who knows how much of they is PKG talent, or still has enough time to be developed properly/broken of bad habits.

    4. Pete seems like somebody who wants to do it his way no matter what, which he can do at UW with a weak AD and no notable super boosters. At Oregon he'd have to deal with Uncle Phil and the shadow of Kelly.

I'll be a little nervous as long as that job looms open simply because of the dollar figures, but in the end I'm pretty sure coach stays.

tl; dr: IT'S OVER FOR PETERSEN!

You are reading too much into the loyalty card. Slingblade is out anyway. Sark took over Kiffin (excluding Interim Ed) and they are still bosom brahs.

That's true. Pete's basically the same exact guy as Sark so I guess you have a poont.

Higher ceiling comment is laughable. I expected better.
