Like 90% of former QB OCs, Babushka thinks of the game from the QB perspective. He wants to set up long passes and big pass play opportunities.
He wants this even though his QB can't throw an accurate ball down the field to save his life; and, conversely, is a Heisman level QB in the intermediate game.
And he wants this even though we have two A level running backs. And even when our run game is gashing teams and our intermediate pass is working he still can't wait to fuck up our offensive rhythm with some fucking stupid "shot" down the field that puts us behind the chains or worse.
So, even when our offense is rolling it's hard to breathe easy, because we know we are always one play away from him fucking it up by getting over complicated and cute. Even when we have series that are amazing, scoring is a relief because we know he wants to run a fake jet sweep deep shot on every other play.
That's why we hate him. So he can go fuck off. -
"He ranks fifth among QBs with at least 30 deep attempts in adjusted completion rate on 20-plus-yard throws, and has been effective throwing to all levels of the field."Dennis_DeYoung said:He wants this even though his QB can't throw an accurate ball down the field to save his life; and, conversely, is a Heisman level QB in the intermediate game.

I think Dennis might be counting those 20-30 or 35 yarders as intermediate though. And if so I agree that's where he's at his best. -
I'd take him back in Corvallis as OC in a heartbeat.
Niner is a legend at OSU.
When you cut your teeth with the Jack-drinkin' Uncle Denny, you take shots down the field occasionally. It's in your DNA. And Babuska isn't the only OC dialing up bombs. Have you ever held a clipboard? Didn't think so.
So, in short, fuck right off @Dennis_DeYoung -
I hope he's your next OC!BennyBeaver said:I'd take him back in Corvallis as OC in a heartbeat.
