Jim Moore's interview with Germain Ifedi

In the middle of yesterday's KIRO interview, Jim Moore referenced his own career as an offensive lineman at Redmond Junior High School. Ifedi broke out in hearty laughter.

It reminded me of one time when I was talking with Lincoln Kennedy. Lincoln was describing something relating to his career with the Oakland Raiders. I responded by mentioning that when I was in fifth grade I had six quarterback sacks and 3 fumble recoveries in one game against the Newport Colts. Lincoln burst out laughing and I had to scramble to emphasize that I wasn't drawing a direct parallel to the NFL. ;) <<<<--------

Oddly enough, the Newport Colts' offensive line was coached that year by Dan Cozzetto.
Actually, and this is 100% true, the Colts lined up in mammoth splits. Like 3 feet apart. And I just lined up between them and kept shooting through the gap.

You shot gaps. Did you ever tackle anybody?

When I was in sixth grade and a proud Audubon Eagle flag football defensive captain I sacked the Willard Wildcat QB so many times their coach came up to me after the game and said, "Son that was the best defensive effort I've ever seen" as he shook my hand. Then asked me what position I played as I had just lined up wherever I could see a gap in their line. Best fucking day of my life.
