How much does that signature win over Boise State mean now?

It means a lot in retrospect. I was impressed not so much by the win over a rebuilding BSU, but more by how the Huskies performed in all phases against the Broncos. Other than the early inconsequential interception thrown by KP, the Dawgs played near flawless football, executing well on the field and on the sideline against a Bronco outfit that typically makes few mistakes.

Following that season opening win over BSU, the Huskies' game in terms of execution and discipline went down hill through three(3) more wins in September and the three(3) straight losses suffered thus far in October. Sure, the competition got progressively tougher, but beginning with the second game against Illinois on the road, which was a sloppy mess with sixteen penalties and a couple of turnovers, there's been no improvement but in fact the reverse. So what does this mean in reference to the BSU win?

I don't know if it's obvious to anybody, but it appears Sark is capable of preparing the Huskies to play well against a BSU providing he has Spring football and a month of preseason practices to get ready. Once the season starts, however, Sark is in the woods staggering around with only a week to prepare for the next opponent and his game declines, especially in the Huskies' performances on special teams and offense.

Inevitably comes October to deliver the special teams disaster at Stanford followed by the usual midseason embarrassments against the ducks at home and in the desert at the hands of the Devils. How can anybody believe that Sark's program could ever improve enough to beat Oregon or ASU and break the longest losing streaks in Husky Football history?

Great answer @Tailgater. Just further evidence that Sark needs to already be fired.

To follow your obvious with another: Sark should never have been hired........ which means that he's part of a string of five(5) straight hiring mistakes over the past 20 years. Can the UW ever get it right again and why should we think they will?

  • It means as much as the last signature win over Boise State..............weird we all predicted that too.
