2008 Apple Cup didn't conclude @Owen12. We still had to get stomped by Cal. Duh.

And as the late Johnie Kirton described it in my book Bow Down to Willingham, he went to the coaches' office the week of the Cal game and saw that they had already packed up their offices and were clearing out.
