3-1 with an OT road loss to #1 NDST

Looks to be a lot of movement in the collage coaching ranks this year.

He better not fuck this up.

baldwin looks to have a lot of mark few in him, been winning a lot at a small school, guessing opps have come up, and he's says "no." probably some bullshit about how he'd have less time to fish or something.

Wow, just looked up his salary...Baldwin makes $212l a year. Surprised he hasn't left to at least be an OC somewhere. Can easily double his salary at a P5 school.

That's like $1 per hr assuming no OT...

    Is that even legal?

How long did Jim Tressel toil at Youngstown State? The key is making the right jump. Why move up to some retard school without $, or with geographical disadvantages, or other issues unless they have enough short term talent to "Todd Graham" you up to your next job?

How many years was Tressel on tOSU staff as an assistant before taking the Youngstown State HC job? How many players left tOSU and joined YS during his tenure?

Now 8-3 with wins over Boise and SDSU.

A win in Albuquerque away from a MWC championship

I'd do terrible, horrible things to have Beau replace Babushka as OC.

    Sigh.

The only person who knows less about what's going on in the Oregon AD than me is Ken fucking Goe. Oregon's AD "closed the gates" on him in about 1990.

This. Wiff a bullet. The next Nick Saban could be coaching at EWU but no P5 school will touch him with a 10 ' pole.

A dude like him will need to show his chops at San Jose St or New Mexico or some crappy MAC school before a P5 takes a gander.
So because one guy from the same school failed to succeed when he moved up in competition means another coach from the same school won't either?

Shall we review Dan Hawkins vis-a-vis Chris Petersen?

That is straight up Grinolds "logic".

There's not a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings in Eugene for Beau Baldwin. I would be VERY excited to see what Bohl could do at Oregon.

Bohl is clearly a great coach. Probably doesn't have a lot of time left, but would be worth it.
I think that transition would be a very tough one. Bohl runs a physical throw-back run-oriented offense. The Duck's offensive personnel would not be a good fit for that at all and it would take at least a couple years to make the transition.

And a conservative, ball control offense doesn't pair very well with an absolutely terrible defense.

Plus Baldwin is TacTown* Tuff. Right, @PurpleJ

    *University Place.

IIRC, the only reason Baldwin didn't leave a couple years ago when McElwain got the Florida job was because he was going through a divorce. Probably didn't want to split half his contract with his soon-to-be/recent ex-wife.

Enough time has passed for her to be happy with only his EWU community property.

I think Baldwin will be average at best at the higher levels. He doesn't have a clue about a good defense and will be a Kliff Kingsbury type.

As a coordinator he will be good.
