    Probably a terrible hire, but he earned it.
    such a club, coaching... he was mediocre as a coach in the Pac-10 for a middling team in a pretty weak conference and now he has a head coaching gig in the NFL. Looks like he was an assistant for quite a while before getting this job. Still shocked though.

    Disagree. He sucks. The stupid line of thinking was he did well with Winston last year. I wouldn't say he deserved it.

    That's a pretty terrible argument. He was ASU's head coach, what, 10-15 years ago? Sometimes coaches do actually improve.

    Of course, I am speaking theoretically. It seems like Koetter still sucks.

    He's a good coordinator/offensive mind like Norv Turner and like Wade Phillips was a good defensive mind. None of them are good head coaches.
