Did Slingblade really play his frosh QB for 1 snap?

I went over to a duck bored recently and they were bitching about all things Slingblade. Anyways, one topic they brought up is that he apparently played their true frosh qb, Herbert, for 1 snap against UC Davis, burning his redshirt, and hasn't played him since.
If true, that is some Willingham-level fucktardedness. May he stay in Eugene for a long time.
