Give the DC (can't spell name) the interim job when we are out of the conference race in October. If Pete's innovative offense can't get it done after three years, then he should fuck off for being a retard who can't actually innovate and figure out how to get it done.
But you know Jen won't do that. She wouldn't know where to look and she would get swindled by a search firm.
I'm also a misogynist cis male, so what would I know? -
At least drop the SmithFS offense and use the old trucker school one with the Porn stache QB and the gay RB or whatever I don't remember.

Zabransky was Manziel minus 50% of ability and 95% of baggage.WilburHooksHands said:

Probably minus 75% of the ability. People still forget Manziel lead the SEC in rushing in his Heisman year with like 1400 yards.GrundleStiltzkin said:

A lot of arm chair quarterbacks out here. Honestly its like some of you have never watched a football game. We're hearing that the coaches are really excited with the defense and are this close to changing the culture on offense from the Sark "stink" to Pete's system that worked so well at Boise.
I get emails from a lot of really good posters who won't post here anymore because of how negative you guys get. If you can't handle the ups and downs of fall camp you might want to find another hobby. If the offense looked great you'd be crying about the defense.
We're got to do some addition by subtraction around here. No warning, you'll just be gone and the board will be better for it

Gotta say, Constantine hurt is a small silver lining. Maybe we can get Tevis or some other decent Azeem backup in there.

Defense looked really good yesterday. Way too many pro bodies on that squad to not be. Yes, I know that is doogism 101, but the guys do pass the eye test. The offense didn't do anything, but they'll be probably the 5th or 6th best in the league. They won't be the dumpster fire many want to see so they'll be right. The defense will be #1 and it won't be close. Special Teams looks pretty decent. Grundle, give me the doogin young brother gif. I'm in.

No problems with your post at all. Fuck a scrimmage. Just please don't go full Tequilla and pretend people want UW to suck.Alexis said:Defense looked really good yesterday. Speaking for myself, I just want to watch some games that actually matter. -
Not trolling @Alexis , what did you see that led you to believe the offense would be a mid PAC? They "ranked" 9th in the conference last season, so that seems like a reasonably tempered prediction, just curious what you saw. Also, how bad did Constantine's injury look?Alexis said:Defense looked really good yesterday. Way too many pro bodies on that squad to not be. They'll be able to run the ball ... it's been one of the consistent themes of all of the practices that I've been to is that they definitely have glimpses where their ability to run the ball is evident.Southerndawg said:

Ross will make a huge difference just from the standpoint that there's probably going to be a half dozen plays where he's going to go the distance and find the kind of chunk plays that the offense didn't have enough of last year.
When you watch the defense consistently in person you realize how good they are going to be ... there's no breathing room whatsoever for WRs and the front 7 can get you behind the chains quickly. They are sound in their positioning in the passing game and swallow up the short to intermediate routes. The only way to really beat them is by blowing the top off the defense and hoping that you connect ... it's similar to how the early 90s defense was in that your best hope to score was by getting lucky with some chunk plays because sustaining drives wasn't realistic.
One thing that has stood out to me offensively though is there is more speed on the offense than there has been in some recent years. If they can get a step or the corner you can find some big chunk plays in place. They will definitely benefit from practicing day in and day out with the defense.
Sean McGrew will make a difference this year.
It'll be hard to judge the offense until we see them line up against some other teams. But while there are some things I've seen that has made me want to shake my head, there's a lot more variety in what I've seen that I think will allow them to take advantage of their playmakers a little better than in the past. -

Jumping in on the O doing better than last year by a decent margin. The D is lights out. If they stay healthy we'll do well. Better than in many years. PAC 12 champs? Only if the O improves over the season in pass pro. I try and temper my doubts with the O is up against one of the best D's in the country.

I'm not trying to get into too much particulars and respect the visibility that I have had.
The OL horse has been beaten and it is what it is. My hope is that they will get better by practicing against the defense everyday. The fight that I've seen I've liked.
The defensive talent is obscene. Depending on what we do with some of our frosh ... we may RS some guys that could definitely have major contributions for some teams in the conference.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the offense ... I think our running game can actually be really really good -
Everything Tequilla said about the running game (tl dr) us what I saw. McGrew, I thought would be either a RS or a 2nd returner. Kid can run between tackles. Dotson looked good also. Gaskin didn't even play. Throw in the return game, with Ross, Buttah, McGrew and a couple others giving the O some good starting field position, and I think the O could easily be counted on for another 4- 6 points a game. And with the waves of DL and DBs they can roll in, I can see the D holding teams to 2 or 3 points less. Another 7 to 9 points a game, Doogitup.gif.

I really doubt McGrew can pound the rock
