We're going to have itchy fingers out here and set the tone early. Those who are hostile, make things personal, the snarly comments, etc, will not only have their posts deleted, but will have their ability to post revoked for a while with no notice. Emailing the mods about it will not only not get an answer ( You know what you did ), the ability to post will be revoked even longer.
This is setting up to be a great season. We're not going to allow a few out here to set a tone creates hostility, drama, etc. We want this to be a place where people can not only enjoy themselves, but gather a lot of info. Those who detract from this, won't be a part of that.
Just setting the tone early. We've already deleted more stuff the past few days than we have in the past few months.
This is what the UCLA site posted
New rule:
DON'T REFER TO ANY OTHER POSTER OR ANY GROUP OF POSTERS ON THIS BOARD IN A DEMEANING WAY.
Example:
"The sunshine pumpers need to pull their head out of the sand..."
"The sky-is-falling crowd is over-reacting again..."
"...unlike people who think they know everything..."
Also, any photos that intend to serve the same purpose qualify too (like a photo of a man with his head in the sand).
Anyone who does this will get immediately banned. Not deleted. Banned.
Again, a good rule to live by: DON'T REFER TO ANY OTHER POSTER OR ANY GROUP OF POSTERS -- PERIOD.
Just keep it to your own opinion.
And, one more intensified rule.
This board should be an inviting place for users, not a hostile one. There are those of you -- on both sides of the argument -- that bring such hostility to your posts. If you persist with a hostile tone, you'll get banned. Not deleted. Banned.
The moderators and I are going to have a very quick trigger finger.
If you PM me and are hostile about being temporarily banned, you'll get banned for life.
If you go to Social Media and smear me or this site as a result of your banning, think of it as a permanent farewell.
