USC has historically, sans Pete Carroll, taken the Chris Peterson approach: Talent; check. Pedigree; check. Disappoint; check.Ice_Holmvik said:USC
It may not be under Helton but USC is generally a recruiting juggernaut. Miami has stadium, location and facility issues and no $$$ for an immediate fix. Helton appears to be taking a Chris Petersen approach at USC. Hard to tell if he has the eye for talent and the ability to develop kids like CP does. Not to mention the fact that instilling that culture at USC will be bucked hard by players and boosters alike. USC traditionally has a flashy Sark like vibe. We have seen how hard it was to change that culture here. Imagine how much harder that would be at USC. But I still take the Trojans over the Hurricanes. Too many built in advantages long term to overlook. -
You're source is the TSIO podcast?Tequilla said:Given current coaching ... I'd say Mismi has the better chance at getting close to elite again (won't happen under Richt until he leaves) ...
As for USC, I'm hearing that the upcoming edition of the TSIO podcast will have a few thoughts on Clay Helton -
But still...it's hard.TierbsHsotBoobs said:

Unless the city gets its coke culture back, Miami will never return to glory.

I'd rather you just told me to fuck off than come at me like that.DerekJohnson said:

Miami has never relied on stadium or facilities, it's been all about coaching, recruiting the nastiest players South Florida can produce and mixing in a decent college quarterback. Richt knows how to recruit that area, and he's a hell of a lot more proven than Helton, who's been coaching under two of the biggest douche bags to ever coach at USC. Just my 0.02, but I think Miami will get back on track before USC will.Ice_Holmvik said:USC

It's probably the same thing. First one to fire the head moron in charge = first one with a shot to return to glory.bananasnblondes said:A better question would be, "Who fires their coach first? USC or Miami?"
