As a UW alumn and rabid Husky fan, I'm always wary when the Dawgs get a lot of pre-season hype. Even back in the Don James era, they always seemed to perform best when they were under-estimated, and under-performed when coming into the season highly ranked.
That being said, this year they seem poised to do well. Browning and Gaskin certainly both displayed great potential last year. Having a solid QB and 4 down RB is a good starting point. The Defense returns 7 starters from a unit that led the PAC-12. And the schedule is very favorable, all NONCONF games are winnable, we dodge UCLA, and get USC at home.
